Clean the late 109s too............

It was really awful in 3.0 - seems to be cleaned up a fair bit in 3.02b, though that could have been a trick of the light (haven't flown F6F extensively in 3.02b).

We're not picky Oleg. No need to break out the lemony fresh stuff, Original Formula will do.

Just water and newspaper will do fine. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Newspaper? Man that stuff will streak like crazy! Something in the line of a non-abrasive flock cloth would seem more appropriate.

unless it was glass...I wouldn't use a product with ammonia! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

all planes , or none at all

dont just give this to the Hellcat

take it away or give it to all others

Please clean the glass. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I want to see !

And I don't want to be flying a fighter known as ol' "YellowStain"

Standardization is the best policy for all fighters--make it the same for all---clear glass.

True. I find it interesting that any programming effort at all would be spent (read that, wasted) on putting these trivial annoyances on the aircraft, regardless of side. Furthermore, it seems that these programming oddities get done on a selective basis for some peculiar reason (to wit: wings ripping off on ONLY the P-51, etc.). This is an excellent sim and there are much bigger fish to fry than to waste the programmer's time on this stuff. Just my take.

Couldn't agree more ! If we are going to have wings fall off the P51 maybe we can have random engine failures on Ki84's- http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

The Plane Captain would never let the plane leave the deck with a canopy that looked like that, they take great pride in their planes. So lets get the glass cleaned up like it should be.

11-30-2004, 10:37 PM
Yes please, clean the canopy of the F6f, and any others that are dirty http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

definate support for the wildcat hellcat 109 and others with the filth glass, also oilspashs should or should not obscure the gunsites on half the aircraft 109 p51 ki61 but do not on all others giving a major unfair advantage.

if you remember janes wii fights all pits were completely obscured when heavily damaged. Also why does the p51d p47 p40b armored glass beaufighter and many others have tinted canopy plexiglass and many others that did not have it?

post 45 p47s and p51k has tinted plexi glass but not early versions. All russian planes are completely clear gives people the wrong idea and none have the site completely obscured from oil splash, even with a broke site on planes such as the la5 the crack in gunsite is perfectly aligned where the revi should be.

Maybe its to late to fix everything but just some things i noticed playing since the games been out.

example of janes pit damage

count me in. how about stopping the planes at some traffic lights and have it done for you.

I'd say more dirt for all the a/c!

And those who were known for bad quality canopies/armored glass/windscreens suffer the most.

Why go for the lowest common denominator if one could aim for the highest.

More realism, not less.

After all the years the Luftwaffe pilots have had to put up with dirty glass it wont hurt if it takes a patch of two to clean up the F6F (besides it hasn't bothered me much when I fly it yet).

If it is cleaned up, it'd be nice if the Axis cockpits get a wipe down as well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

12-01-2004, 04:04 AM
Please clean it up Oleg. Actually clean all of them up....make it fair foir everyone.

12-01-2004, 05:15 AM
I want oil on the Hellcat's windscreen when engine is damaged.

12-01-2004, 05:50 AM
Please clean the snot off my windscreen. There are enough bogies on my monitor allready! LOL http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

12-01-2004, 07:08 AM
how about a picture, so everyone knows what youre talking about!!!????

12-01-2004, 09:34 AM
Add my name to the list of clean canopy/windscreen glass... F6F and all others that are badly overdone in the grunge arena...

12-01-2004, 10:40 AM
The only planes that should actually have low-quality canopy transparency are some of the really early-series MiG-3's and LaGG-3's. The first models had notoriously low-quality glass.

12-01-2004, 10:53 AM
Add me to the list, please clean the F6F cockpit glass.

12-01-2004, 11:55 AM
What exactly is that on the glass? It is just filth and grime?

Or is it poor quality glass?

I really have no idea; either way, I have seen this in late war 109's and Hellcat, and a couple other planes... And I ask, why these planes, and not others? The US Navy and German High Command decided it would be good idea to equip their best fighter planes with poor quality or ****-stained glass? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

12-01-2004, 12:05 PM
All accounts of clean glass are fairytales and revisionest propaganda to be discarded. accept on Lagg3. Lagg3 clean even when dirty http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

12-01-2004, 03:02 PM
Clean 'em all!!! No self respecting crewchief would EVER send his aircraft out with a dirty windscreen.

12-01-2004, 11:03 PM
startem clean then add some bug splats and dirty them up as the mission goes on!

Cant we all just get our windows cleaned??? Argh!
