If you have read Shaw, this will also interest you.

At www.d-n-l.net (http://www.d-n-l.net) scroll down on the left column and select Boyd & Military Strategy. Contains a bunch of links on his writings. There is a PDF file of his excellent Aerial Attack Study. Great concepts and even applicable to LOMAC as well.

Try this link:

Sorry I am exceedingly inept at posting links. if all else fails type d-n-l.net in google.

John Boyd's "Aerial Attack Study" is the basis for pretty much all air combat tactics of modern day air forces. He is the one to develop the concept of energy management and develop EC charts. Shaw knew his stuff, but much of what Shaw knows comes straight from Boyd.

"Boyd: The Fighter Pilot Who Changed The Art of War" is another must read on this fascinating and not well known man. He's ideas on modern combat (not just air) are a corner stone of much of the military doctrine used today by not just the US but many nations.

His concept of the OODA loop was revolutionary and is even used in business strategies. When you hear some say "we got inside his decision cycle" then that is someone who has studied Boyd's methods.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
