Just wondering if anyone uses Teamspeak Overlay in order to view in flight communications.

Is it a worthwhile addition to have when flying within a squadron / unit environment?

Spooky HA, was just coming in to post EXACTLY the same question!!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I got it in my head somewhere that someone told me it was unreliable - probly one of those 4-in-the-morn online dogfights where I'm awake sheerly on adrenaline and the haunting addiction of the dogfight... *sigh*

My mems awful anyway.

Sorry, YES! Teamspek overlay - whats the gen????

Hi Tom,

I've found 2 that are available. I was on-line last night flying with a wing and everyone was chatting away. I had no idea who was saying what at the time, once I get to know everyone it might be ok but until then I thought I'd try this overlay thingy.

The 2 options are:

1. TSO-ALPHA, and
2. TS Display.

Anyway, will give it try. 4 o'clock in the morning looking for dogfights, should call yourself tomthecat. Thanks for the reply.

Happy xmas m8 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I've used both and find TSO the superior of the two.

Hi Hobnail,

Should I have any concerns regarding TSO as each stage has a warning saying use with caution?

The version I have downloaded is: TeamSpeak Overlay ALPHA 1.7.8 (Build 58) dated 23 Aug 2005

I've had zero problems with TSO, the author just calls it an alpha for his own reasons, most any other software writer would be calling it a fully fledged beta by now. It is actually scheduled to come out of "alpha" with the next update.

I like TSO for it's look ingame, the ability to customise, it has a clock, fully configurable alpha levels, configurable display persistence.

BTW you can automatically start TSO as enabled (once you click on the alpha warning) by using the /auto switch in the shortcut eg:

"C:\Program Files\TSO\tso.exe" /AUTO

I have a second monitor so I don't really need it, but my squaddies swear by TSO. Never a problem in the six months or so they've had it running.

I used TSO in a few online events last year & found it a fantastic little program. Easy to set up & trouble free running. It gets a thumbs up from me http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I've used both apps at one time or another and both are very worth while. TSDSIP seems to have a small FSP hit though but not noticable if you have am OK PC.

I've used them both, both work very well but I ended up using TSDisp. I don't use either now though because I use Schmads Teamspeak applet for my Logitech G15 keyboard which has an LCD display. I posted screenshots and links here (http://www.warbirdsofprey.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=988).
