Hi gents, I recently have had a urge to do carrier missions. While flying the F4F-3 preparing for landing, I can't seem to lower the landing gear. I also tried doing it manualy, no luck, anyone http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/354.gif thanks in advance

Hi!

You could try to land without extending the gear. If you do it slowly, you should be able to keep the plane in one piece... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

But: I recommend to lower the gear manually... You may need to assign keys/buttons to it. After about 21 'cranks' the gear is lowered and locked.

Happy landings!

Thanks for that, so the F4F-3 is only a manual landing gear?

No, i16 also has manual landing gear (if I understand the question as "the F4f-3 is the only one with manual landing gear". If you mean the f4f-3 is only available with manual landing gear: yes.

How on Earth did you take off and raise your gear?

Edit: ah, got it. Autopilot?

I selected single mission's, the carrier landing, landing mission 1, so I started in mid air, in area of the carrier

The 'Manual' landing keybinding is useful in other planes as well. During an online mission, My plane (A6M) was damaged and I couldn't lower gear! I had to lower it manually. (Dunno if all planes have this option) Thanks to a team mate who informed me of this option.

Ok, similar noob question regarding the F4F-3.

This plane has a three stage Supercharger. Anyone know what the recommended altitude is to switch to two? to three?

According to ND's cockpit guide, stage 2 at 8200 ft. and stage 3 at 19000 ft.

Had the hydraulics shot up in a Bf110 and was able to use the manual landing gear routine to get the gear down. Was in the approach, couldn't get them down with the "G" key. Figured what would Fritz do? Figured couldn't hurt trying, and low the gear went down as if I was in an I16!
