Oleg,
Ubi keeps telling us that we can't host if we are using a router on the Ubi gameservice because of a problem with Forgotten Battles. I believe the issue is with the game service passing the wrong ip address to clients trying to connect. We know the reason we can't host is because our internal LAN ip is being passed to clients instead of our external ip. It would be nice to know if the game is responsible for this or if it is ubi's gameservice software. If its the gameservice software maybe a reply from you saying that the game is not responsible for the problem might help us to get ubisoft to fix it.

thank you for your time and a wonderful game.

I may be a bit biased against the UBI.com client service because I've had nothing but problems...but I would suspect that it is the source of the problem.

Try HyperLobby and see if you can host there. If that works and UBI doesn't then you know...if that doesn't work then maybe some work regarding your router setup may be required. Theres got to be a way around the problem...

[EDIT: N/M. I was going to suggest "DMZ" hosting, but that arrangement still uses internal IP addresses for the "DMZ" host behind the router.]

That was something I was also thinking...but I usually consider DMZ to be somewhat risky. Thats the only way I can get MSN file transfers to work but its just not worth it...and as you say, it probably doesn't work anyways.

Here are some parameters the Game passes.

Thats UBI client and Server
0 Fbdrive\FBdir\il2fb.exe
1 /GS:StartedByGS

Thats Host on HL
0 Fbdrive\FBdir\il2fb.exe
1 Playername
2 -room
3 test
4 -type
5 coop
6 -maxclients
7 2
8 -master
9 127.0.0.1

127.0.0.1 is a local loopback device for Localhost.

HL Client
0 Fbdrive\FBdir\il2fb.exe
1 Target IP
2 -name
3 Playername

Hosting works fine as long it is on HL or IP Game.

Question is the Gameservice integration the Problem or is it UBI itself. I asked several people to pass the Problem to UBI answer was mostly Problem doesnt exists or is fixed.
That is not the case for about 1 Year now.)

This Problem appeared first time shortly before the release of Forgotten Battles on UBI. I think with 1 of the AutoRTP Patches for the UBi Software. But it may also be possible that the better integration of the Gameservice that came along with FB is involved in the Problem.

Anyway it would be nice to know how this /GS:StartedByGS interacts with the Gameservice to track down the error. It might be possible that this passes the local IP. But a other default port (for example UBI can use udp 21010 as host for il2fb) can do the same.

Hyperion
