Allies, if you wish to dominate full real dogfight servers, follow these simple guidlines. They will ensure a 100:1 kill ratio over the enemy.

1) Choose a Mustang. Preferebly a P-51B.

2) Climb to 30,000FT

3) Wait.

Thankyou.

The key to success is so blatantly obvious. Allied planes outperform Axis planes at high altitude.
If you wish to be like me, and dominate, simply climb to 30,000FT and wait for the BF-109s to come up.
Even a spitfire can beat German planes up high, and I don't even consider it to be a good fighter.

German planes have poor high altitude performance. Exploit it. Like me you shall point ***** in no time.

Oleg once told me, pilot who is high win fight.

He was right.

Hi,

Just do what I do to counter. Bounce these pansy planes just after take off before they manage to get enough collective to helicopter climb up to 30k http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Cheers,
Norris

Norris is a great example of someone who thinks. He is a tactician, and has rightly checked aircraft performance to see that the P-51D20NA out stall climbs the BF-109K4, like a helocopter.
The only way a BF-109K4 could ever out-climb a P-51, is if the Mustang had his gear out. There is simply no other way. That is a fact which I and Norris know.
I am shocked that anyone even flies the BF-109K4 with its poor climb performance.
I am also surprised you don't fly the mustang Norris, then maybe you could achieve greatness second to mine.

I swear this guy is a reguar forum poster who, for fun, after a year or more of study, has taken on this alias to post things like this.

Its a riot http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Although I do agree on one point at the very least: Mustang is definately one of the best fighters around.

I think we should put Sir Robin here up with some of the Allied pilots who think the P-51 is undermodeled and let them figure it out http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

No, it's an axis player who very badly wants the P51 nerfed. Just using a strange tactic.

Incorrect assumption Mr. HayateExpert.
I do infact fly the P-51 on hyperlobby. Look me up, my name is Sir.Robin. I do have an inkling that you infact do not fly the KI-841C however. Smart move, for this plane like many others is outclassed by the curent best plane in IL2.

quote:
it's an axis player who very badly wants the P51 nerfed

Do you deny the Mustang's ability to outclimb the BF-109K4 at all altitudes? Check your facts friend and yea shall see the truth. Norris did, and now he may one day be an ace. Until then, he is flying an inferior plane to the Mustang.

My original point is becoming obscured by mustang doubters.

Fly high and yea shall point *****. Oleg recently agreed with me.

NorrisMcWhirter
12-19-2004, 05:38 PM
Indeed. Sir Robin does indeed fly a P51 online cos I've seen him hosting contests with the aforementioned monstrosity.

However, it's an elaborate double bluff by him to have a special 'Sir Robin' P-51 included by Oleg that has been nerfed to make things fairer for everyone else. If I may be so bold to suggest something, perhaps it would be advisable to fit the P51 with a 190 view so as to incur a handicap for the Sir.

Put another way, if Erich Hartmann were here, Sir Robin would reject him as a wingman for being too inferior.

Cheers,
Norris

Sir.Robin-1337

If the Mustang had the front view of a FW-190 I would still fly it. The FW-190 cockpit view is more than addequate to see out of.. however the performance of the plane leaves much to be desired.
For now my friends the Mustang is King.... until the next patch. We shall see.

Monstrosity is such an ugly word Norris. Do you dislike the Mustang, simply because of its superiority?

Erich Hartmann? Sorry I am not acquainted with that fellow, however if he ever wishes to fight, catch me on hyperlobby.

HayateApe, I strongly believe that if you are having a difficult time with recording kills in the current allied aircraft, then your piloting or shooting skills are certainly lacking.

Perhaps you should spend your time a little more wisely and practice.

Just a helpful hint for you.

Excellent work Fehler, spoken like a true believer.
Listen to Fehler, he speaks only true things. However, swap "allied aircraft" for "P-51 Mustang".
I am perplexed as to why you fly the FW-190 though Fehler? It performs so poorly, and has armament uncomparable to the Mustang.
Has the good book not reached your countries yet?

You can purchase "How to live and own in the Mustang" by Sir. R Hood at your local W.H.Smiths in the factual section. It is next to my biography "The story of an ace".

For a more indepth course, purchase my self-help guide "Point whoring for Dummies".

Indeed, monstrosity is an ugly word and one chosen very carefully to describe the beastly abomination http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Now, I wouldn't wish to diss your chosen ride but I have often considered the Mustang to be so **** due to it's suction of discarded dog turds and assorted faeces into the low slung air intake whilst undertaking low altitude tomfoolery. Of course, your aircraft would simply be superior to those bottom feeders as you don't get many captain's logs floating around at 30k.

Cheers,
Norris

PS. I checked out both Smiths and Menzies for those publications but they only had 'Teach yourself the 190 in 21 days' and 'The da 190 code' where a shot down P51 pilot has arranged himself into the 'Vitruvian Man' pose after scrawling the silhouette of a 190 in his own blood on his stomach.

LMAO! Sir Robin I have to appreciate your comments.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif But what's with the HayateAce? I think he just had a pretty good guess.. Though I have seen Robin's flying in the HL, in P51 so, so much for the "axis flyer".. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

But Robin, what's your opinion about the P47? IMO I like it because if I ever misjudge my alt advance and notice myself beeing in trouble with i.e Dora, I still have some changes to survive due to the good armor..

Cheers!

Lead, there's a point where every man realizes that to grow in skill involves more of changing yourself than yelping and whining for patches to fix problems that don't exist.

That big glass nose isn't as bulletproof as we all thought. Nor are those nice big liquid cooled engines.

Now, Sir.Robin, I have a few questions for you:

In a multiplayer server the other day, I finally decided to climb into a P-51B and went up to 15,000 feet. I immediately noticed a change in performance, but:

l. One thing I did was find German planes at lower altitudes, dive down, use my superior speed to get a few hits, and zoom climb back up. However, I cannot put enough bullets in the target. If I keep going down and up, arent' my tactics going to become predictable, won't it make me an easier target?

2. The Mustang's nose is it's Achilles heel. How in all hell do you prevent it from getting hit and lighting up? (Mainly I try not presenting it to my enemy as a target, but it's not always so easy)

3. Last Friday I took on 3 Ace AI mustangs and destroyed all of them completely while flying a P-40C. I tend to do much better in my P-40's. How would you counter a P-40 attack?

The .50s are fine on line. Well for those of us still stuck on 2.04 , anyway. Just came off Trolville204. In my last sortie I managed to down a Fw-190A, a 190 D9, a 153P and a p-51. All in a B-239 with only 4 .50s. S! To stOras, bagpipes and the rest there for a good game tonight as well.

Please dont change the .50s. I kind like them just the way they are!

P-51 outclimb K-4? your high on crack cocaine.

the mustangs climb from 0 to 2,000 meters is meager to pathetic. K-4 is much faster.

from 2 to 6 K high the k-4 outclimbs the stang. ESPECIALLY on manual prop pitch.

only above 6K does the mustang have the climb advantage over a k4.

Oh and i might consider flying a TA-152 at 11,000 meters vs a P-51B. i dont think p51 can beat it but ill have to test it

The Ballad of Brave Sir Robin
Bravely bold Sir Robin rode forth from Camelot.
He was not afraid to die, O brave Sir Robin!
He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways,
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin!
He was not in the least bit scared to be mashed into a pulp,
Or to have his eyes gouged out, and his elbows broken;
To have his kneecaps split, and his body burned away;
And his limbs all hacked and mangled, brave Sir Robin!

His head smashed in and his heart cut out
And his liver removed and his bowels unplugged
And his nostrils raped and his bottom burned off
And his pen--
http://www.stmoroky.com/sirrobin/robin@.au
****me262****
Brave Sir Robin ran away.
Bravely ran away, away!
When danger reared its ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat,
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin!
