Hey guys..

I was just wondering if anyone knew if the blenheim is ever gonna come with cockpit?

And the F4F, i can find no accounts that state that they had automated flaps, because its a pain that the combat flaps raise as soon as you lower them if you are going more that 250Km/h.

I seriously doubt that the Blenheim will get a cockpit. There is just too little interest in it. I will hazard a guess and say most people would much rather the Pe-2, Pe-3, Mosquito, Betty or Ju-88 for their bomber action.

As for the F4F and its flaps:

"The Wildcat has an interesting flap system that is activated by the vacuum system in the airplane and is also used to spin the gyro instruments for instrument flying. Instead of using positive pressure to operate the flap cylinder, this aircraft uses negative pressure or suction. A large tank in the rear of the aircraft stores the negative air pressure. At higher speeds, the negative pressure does not create enough force to overcome the air loads to lower the flaps. It will not hurt the system, as in some aircraft, to put the flaps down at high speed. They just simply won€t come down! Pilots could use this to their advantage in a dogfight and could select the flap handle down before engaging another aircraft. If during the dogfight the airplane happened to slow down below a certain speed, the flaps would creep out. The more the aircraft slowed down, the more flap would creep out. This gave the Wildcat a tighter turning radius, which was a major advantage in a dogfight, as they could potentially turn inside their opponent and get on his tail."

I think at this point we can be pretty sure that the Bleni will never makes it into the Il2 series. I would think it would be a must for the BOB series though.

The flaps system on the F4F made a whole lot of sense in real life because lowering the flaps going 400MPH would do a huge amount of damage but in this sim you can open combat flaps at any speed you want so the advantage of the system is totally negated.

I said ever so BOB if fine by me, as long as she comes with pit.

And about the F4F, the site you show put some light on the issue but the flaps dont go down when your speed does so like Bear said the system are useless in the game and kind of cripple the F4F vs the Zero's that she incounter.

Just keep tapping the button...you get the same sort of effect. I keep my speeds high in a Wildcat anyways so slowing down to a speed where the flaps should open isn't something that is of much importance to me.
