Can someone provide instructions on editing a mission file to change the skin used by each aircraft in the mission? I've tried to figure it out, but can't seem to find where to do this or even if it is possible.

You should try ShiftE's Quick Mission Tuner.

Where would one find ShiftE's Quick Mission Tuner?

When viewing aircraft in FMB, Click the the Plane1, Plane2, etc... tabs, the box to select skin is there.

For cut~n~paste mission text file editing, you can change skin names in the text files.mis

For Player plane, you have to change player skin in the Arming screen you see when you click RUN to start the mission, same with Arming screen in QMB, which I use mostly as skin viewer. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Note, if you use keyboard shortcut to bypass clicking RUN in FMB, you also bypass the Arming screen.

I figured out a short cut. In the *.mis file you can manually add in the skins if you don't want to use the full mission builder.

Just find the section which looks like the one below and add one skin for each plane in the flight.

[Wing]
USMC_VMF_351z00
[USMC_VMF_351z00]
Planes 4
Skill 1
skin0 F4U-1D_VF-351_Blank.bmp
skin1 F4U-1D_VF-351_Blank.bmp
skin2 F4U-1D_VF-351_Blank.bmp
skin3 F4U-1D_VF-351_Blank.bmp
Class air.F4U1D
Fuel 100

Thanks SHIFT_E for the QMT link. I'll give it a try.
