I've been watching the development of this one for months, and it's finally coming out:

Federal: HUZZAH

Rebel: EEIIAAGH (That's the closest I can come to a rebel yell with text)

I wish someone would make an American Civil War FPS game, that would be a nice change from the standard MG fights in all the other FPS games.

A civil war first person shooter would probably be by far the most painful game to play of all time. You stand in a line, aim, and fire all the while hoping that you don't get hit by the other guy. Then after you get hit (hopefully the bullet hasn't killed you) you can writhe around on the ground screaming as your comrades go on a near suicidal bayounet charge. The best level would be the one where you get to run with the flag http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

So what's happened here then?

http://premium1.uploadit.org/igmusapa/burnside.jpg

The Union general's got pissed and fallen off his horse, and his men all cheer?

Or is it the abridged version of 'Dances With Wolves', where Kevin Costner gets killed in the first fifteen minutes?

Cheers!

I saw some guff about this game online a while back...but I couldn't find any UK retailers for it....anyone know where I can buy/preorder it? - It's right up my street. In answer to Maj-Death's question...they made a third-party expansion to Halflife/counterstrike Called 'The Battle Grounds'....which was American War of Independence...not too far removed in style from American civil war. I know theres 100 years difference, but much of the weaponry and battle styles are the same. I believe they are remaking this expansion for HL2.

A good Civil War game is Civil War Generals2. It's kinda old but a relaly good game in my opinion. i've been playing it for years. This game looks pretty good tho limited in scope.

Check the game site forums for the availability of the game outside of the US

There's a post from someone in Sweden about a local net supplier and there are other posts about US net suppliers that might ship to the UK.

I live in Canada, and although the game is supposedly going to be available in EB stores, I checked with the EB outlet in downtown Vancouver and they have no record of it.

Where have I heard that before?
