what's the difference between the clipped and nonclipped versions of the spit. they seem the same to me

Clipped roll faster.

They look differenthttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif. What T_O_A_D said, plus I think there is a slight decrease in rate-of-climb and turnrate for aircraft with the clipped wing. However there is an increase in speed at low altitude IIRC.
