"Once (I think it was 31st aug. 1940), I was in a fight with four Hurricanes over Dover.
I was back over the channel when I saw another Hurricane coming from Calais, trailing white smoke, obviously in a bad way.
I flew up alongside him and escorted him all the way to England and waved goodbye.
A few weeks later the same thing happened to me.
That would never have happened in Russia - never". (Erich Rudorffer - 109 pilot)

Years ago there was an aircaft museum at the airport. I doubt it's still there.

Sorry, can't help you http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

This is a link with a list of all German aircraft exhibitions.

http://www.flugzeugmuseen.de/

There is not much in that direct area. There are a few planes in Cologne, a good 100km away, but not really worth a visit.

There is a large shopping mall in Oberhausen, though http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

The Duesseldorf airport had some planes on display back in the days. They even had a Me163. Also in summer there were flights with a Ju52 you could book. I grew up in the region, but that is some time ago, so I have no idea if those things are still up and running nowadays.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Never discuss with stupid people.
They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

The Junkers is gone from Duesseldorf airport as a static display. But before you think what a shame and so on, the airplane went to a happier place: in the sky! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
It's flying with a company called Ju-air, based in Switzerland. And good news, they regulary fly from Moenchengladbach (no too far away from Duesseldorf) in the summer!

That's no surprise there! I would line up in the cue too if I were in Lufthansa.
Must be a bit more satisfying to fly it then the average bus where I guess you don't have the feeling you're flying yourself.
