Thank you, excellent article. Heartbreaking to read the pilots had sufficient food in Leningrad including "unlimited bread" while their mechanics were starving and would even refuse the bread offered. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

That's one of the most questionable decisions of Stalin: To defend Leningrad to the last men. But i have to say that the defenders and citizens that made it through made it with dignity. "Troy fell, Rome fell, Leningrad will never fall!" was their slogan, and 900 days of blockade should be never forgotten.
