Gamespot gives PF a low score of 7.3 PF Review (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/pacificfighters/index.html). I know there are bugs that need to be addressed, but I dont think it deserves such a low score. Their score compares it to CFS3 CFS3 Review (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/combatflightsimulator3/index.html) and I use that one as a coaster. I hope that the patched version will change their minds and they adjust the score to reflect how great the game is. The original IL2 scored 9.2.

" Most of the new planes are practically impossible to stall when they are flown at full throttle, even if the stick is jerked all the way back or to the sides"

Does the reviewer have the game set on full difficulty? I got a Corsair into an accelerated stall that led to a flat spin this afternoon. I know what the reviewer means about the Beaufighter campaign, though.

Well the Corsair(s) do stall but you have to admit they are rather forgiving.

If you get into an accelerated stall in the Corsair then most of the time just letting go of the controls lets it correct, so maybe it is too forgiving. (I've not personally flown an F4U so I don't know how forgiving it should be in detail). But I just wanted to point out that stalls and spins are entirely possible. The F4U is more squirrely than some of the planes, at least, and somewhat like the 190 (unless that has changed with PF too).

That review was pretty professional. There was no complaints about it not being a "shoot em up". On the other hand the reviwer made many good points.

At the moment PF is a buggy product. It has many glaring holes and omissions (Avenger Devastator and Kate anyone?) It deserves its 7.3 rating for the product that shiped.

However we all know that these problems will be fixed in patches.
