If he were shot down, that would have been a $500 camera set down the drain...

The technology for the FPV planes (First person view) is actually quite cheap; chinese stuff from ebay etc. I think the cheapest systems are well below $100 nowadays. And these are very small and light, it's possible to make a MPX Fox as a FPV (wing span about 50cm),

Last I saw there was a big price difference between Color and B/W.

Granted, if they had shot it down, they also would have saved a lot of money on fireworks.

Didnt really look like they were trying to shoot it down to me. Just make a video, whereby some of the fireworks got a little close.

If they had the money fair enough, looks like a bunch of lads messing around at a farm. Better than playing computer games.

I'd arm the plane with a couple of rockets next time. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Fireworks have no shrapnel, AA rounds do.

Really? On hobby-lobby it was pretty expensive last I saw (but then again, I checked it out when it was new).

Check out this thread in Rcgroups:

The flying gear (camera+transmitter) is well below $100 and gogles does not add much more.
