As conspiratorial as the story of the AC series is, I think I stumbled on something that the writers HAVE to incorporate into the story or I'll be extremely disappointed in them, lol.

This gets a little weird, but stick with me, and I know it's a bit of a stretch but so's a lot of the other stuff they work into the story line. =P

The first two at-home microcomputer kits were an Intel 8080-based machine made by MITS named the "Altair" that appeared on the cover of the January 1975 "Popular Electronics" magazine.(see photo 1 below), and a microcomputer named the "SOL" made by Processor Technology Corporation.

Now as everyone knows "Sol" can also be a shortened version of the name "Solomon". The Freemasons base the inside of their lodges off of Solomon's Temple, and the highest degree you can achieve in the York Rite of Freemasonry is.....Knight Templar!

Remember in AC1 when Vidic tells Desmond that the Templars are responsible for every major breakthrough in history? Maybe they could work it into that somehow? I dunno I'm not a writer. =P

Like I said I know it's a stretch, but it's still interesting, LOL!

Definately interesting, but overall petty. I doubt they'd bother with it when they've already made abundant;y clear that EVERY major discovery in history has at one time been discovered by a templar before anyone even thought of it. Still, nice research lol

Ehh, true. But with one being named the "Altair", it might be interesting just to drop the fact in the game that the Assassins have had competing tech with the Templars as far back as 1975, lol.

Ya know, kinda how they have the Animus 2.0 in 2012. Just a thought. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I think "sol" being the Latin word for "sun" would be a better AC reference than it being short for Solomon.

My mind jumped to "Solomon" because of Solomon's Temple having held a Piece of Eden. Of course now I wonder what Solomon breaks down to in Latin, lol.

EDIT

Found this on solomon, apparently sol-om-on breaks down to the word for "sun" in 3 different languages. The aforementioned Sol=Sun in Latin, Om=Sun in sanskrit, and couldn't find info on third...may not be true. =/

Technically they didn't want him to build a robot.

Solomon is called Salomon in Latin I believe.

Interesting stuff in the edit btw.

All romance languages come from Latin. Hey I actually remembered something from French class in high-school, lol.

Well I think both are good. Whether we have it refer hypothetically to either Solomon or Sun. Wonder if(with that whole Sol-Om-On referencing the sun in 3 languages thing)the Temple of Solomon, could be construed to mean "Temple of the Sun" in the game world, LOL? =P

Hah, this conspiracy stuff is easy. =)

Yea, but no one knew about Altair until the first AC, so that wouldn't make any sense, http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Wish it could happen though, it'd be pretty cool http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

What do you mean no one knew who Altair was? He was a Grand Master of the Assassin's and he had a legacy within the order(as demonstrated to a certain extent in AC2). Also, Abstergo kidnapped Desmond in the first place because he was a descendant of Altair. They needed Altair's memories.

Go to http://assassinscreed.wikia.com and look up Altair, scroll all the way down to the "Legacy" section. Sorry, I would link it directly but his name has weird characters in it that it won't let me link for some reason.
