...is the cable in the back of the TV properly...?

Or Maybe you have the wrong resolution settings.

Take the scart lead out from the 360 and the the tv then take out all the coulour leads out, from the scart put them back in and then just plug it all back in if that doesn't work try a new 360 to tv scart lead.

If you see 3 red rings come up around the power-on button, It's a hardware failure, there fore you must send it off. My brother had done this a few days ago.

I feel really bad for you, but at least you have a backup system (PS3) to play AC on. If my 360 dies I have nothing!

And as for your question, I am pretty sure you could get a better response to your problem by posting on a xbox forum or a computer forum instead of a game forum filled with 13 year olds.

3 Red rings means there's nothing wrong with the wires. It's an internal problem.

I'm sorry dude it reads like your video card clonked out on ya. I had that happen to mine and I hear it is a fairly common problem with the earlier releases of the 360. After the initial video problem it took a few days for my xbox to start showing the red lights of doom.

Wait a few days because it look that long for my system to start showing the red lights, perhaps help it along by leaving it on for extended periods....

Once you get the red lights of doom MS will cover the repair and will send you a package so you can send it in and they will send you back a new or fixed one depending on your location and the damage to your system.

EDIT: If it turns out that in a few days the red lights have yet to show, I'd call microsoft and see what your options are because from what I've heard actually paying for them to fix your xbox can be fairly pricy.

buy a new one and see what happens

Sounds like the cable to me, if you can borrow one from a friend or buy a new one, i would do that before sending it in for repairs. Basically if you send a console in for repair and all it has is a broken cable, they will tell you that you had a major problem of doom, just so they can justfiy charging you loads of cash for the repair costs.

It really sounds like a scart cable problem to me though, since you had the sound and no picture. You might be aware that a scart cable comes as 3 different cables wrapped in a single thick cable, 2 of those cables are your audio, left and right speaker, the 3rd cable is your video, sounds like you got a faulty cable or it's broken. I broke a bunch of cables by coiling them up after i finished using them, until i found out that that's what was breaking them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

If you have the rings of death than you are most likely in a bad place right now. See if they can fix it BEFORE AC comes out. Otherwise it could take up to three weeks...Trust me, it happened to me too.

Ok so I rang the support line(HELL http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif) after about an hour they confirmed it was broken. So then they said it will cost 60 and thay asked for a credit card number I then said want about the warrenty I didnt brake it, it broke by itself nothing to do with me. Then they asked when I got it I said when it first came out then they said its too old for a warrenty I thought they extended it or something. I then hung up and rang my gamestop and I told them everything and they said the warrenty lasts much longer than that and they should fix it free of charge. I rang again and they just said the same thing again its too old. What the hell should I do?(I know its only 65 but the games coming out for 360 from after mass effect doesnt justify it. PLz help.

hey b busher

The extended warranty MS brought out does only apply to hardware faults i.e. red lights of doom, ive not read the whole thread so not sure what the fault is with your system but if its not a hardware failure thats why they are asking you to pay for the repair.

IF it is a hardware failure they should not be asking you to pay, MS made it quite clear they were covering all systems old and new for any hardware failure so i would advise another phone call if thats the case.

If that still doesnt work a letter with a print out of the original press release announcing the warranty changes (i can get you this if needed)

b-busher
11-15-2007, 11:51 AM
Microsoft confirmed themselfs after I told them whats wrong that it is a hardware fault but without any red lights and they still said its too old for a warrenty.

XyZspineZyX
11-15-2007, 11:58 AM
ahh ha, right someone on my forums had this same problem. They basically said yes its hardware but you didnt get the red lights so it isnt covered. Long story short and many phone calls later he rang to inform them it had the red lights of doom and they sent a label for him to return it for a free repair http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

IF your system was to start suffering the RLOD since your first calls they would have to address it under the warranty changes. As i understand it they are quite busy sorting out faulty systems so dont know how much time they might have to test it.
