Is the hub optional? Can you choose if you wan't it all there or if you don't. Because i would much rather play the game without all the **** on the screen. And they seemed to be playing it like that on the alpha version. It would be so much more realistic and involving.

You need the HUD to see the map, and your confidence meter etc. etc.

the_assassin_07
09-30-2007, 09:13 AM
You don't need the map. Yeah the confidence meter but you only need the map if you dunno where to go. It does give you a good picture of where you're going...

I think the map is pretty nessesary considering each city is so big.

I'm offended by your signature scythe! Take it off! Hsssssssssss

But yeah I hope the 'HUB' IS optional.

Yeah, most games are focusing on reducing the HUD to a minimum, and there comes AC with this big clunky thing. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Many shooters have optional HUDs. But we have seen a demo of AC without hud, so I bet it will be optional

i wonder if running away after you kill someone is optional.. can i just stay there and fight until they are all dead and walk away....

ScytheOfGrim

the demo without the HUD was an earlier build of the game. many things weren't implemented. physics and crowd AI (with the proper reactions and different personalities).

i guess we'll have to wait and see.

i wonder if there will be something to tell me where to go when i turn the HUD off

I wouldn't say it's BAD, I would maybe just like to trying to play without it when I get used to the game or something. To get better screenshots / demos maybe?

I didn't mean that it should go all together, because that would just be stupid, I mean, example being, press select to hide it all, and when you want to see your health, map etc, press select again and it will all appear as usual, that would be ideal I reckon, especially for the kind of game it is.

to tell the truth, the best system to please all gamers is:

when you aren't fighting or being chasen, the health bar disappears.
the map should be optional (Zelda style. the pressing of one button, maybe select, turns it on and off.
the only thing that has to be on the screen 24/7 is the button config.
this game is very difficult to play without that help...

anyway... i am one of those that absolutely loves the HUD of this game. it reminds me so much of Zelda and therefore it will be very easy to use for me! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The map i'm guessing can be turned off and on, as the health bar and weapon select i think it will fade away when its not needed, alot of next gen games do this now.

The health bar IMO looks quite the snazzle http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Although, with all the **** on the screen you can't really enjoy the whole cinematic feel, and who cares about life bars in a battle, you wouldn't have one in real life.

I'd like everything to fade away when its not being used because if any of you have played driver 4 that hud was too much those big circles and stuff I know on ac there isnt that much but the map and health bar should fade away that would be great.

do any of the game designers or managers etc ever come on the forum? and if so and if they are on now, could they answer this question, because it's really bugging me! The whole HUD thing is the one thing that concerns me about the game and ruins the whole next gen feel for me.

Yeah, true. (oh and btw I knew it was HUD I was being sarcastic or whatever you'd call the litery device I used, I'm not stupid you know( No offense to anyone who didn't know, of course http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif))
