Since I´m heading to St. Petersburg on a school excursion next month I´d like to shop for the fabled Russian excursion pack containing Pe-2, Il-10 etc. if such a pack indeed exists.

Please Ivan, can you give me the title that I should ask for in software shops since my Russian is rudimentary at best? How do you spell it in cyrillics (I´ve got cyrillic font installed on my PC, so you can write the title in cyrillic in your answer. Also, I´d really appreciate any addresses of software shops that sell 1C titles, if possible?
Do I need to buy Russian versions of Forgotten Battles, Ace Expancion Pack & Pacific Fighters? What are the Russian titles for those?

And the big question: Is that addon pack available by mail order through the net in some Russian language-only netpage? If so where?

This haven't been released yet. The ETA for the Russian addons is fall'05 (at best).

Wouldn't help you anyway unless you have the russian version of the game. Akella did the same thing long ago with PotC, Russian release only and wouldn't only work with the multilingual 'export' version of the game. Though the mod community was able to extract some of the patch and make it available to the rest of th world.

The Former Soviet Union-only CD has not been released yet. So, unless it is released before you travel, no need to look for it. And you DO need the Russian versions of FB/AEP/PF to install it- at the very least FB and AEP. So, while you are there, get hold of the following:

˜"2 ¨Ñ"урмо²¸º- the original IL2.
˜"2 ¨Ñ"урмо²¸º "?бÑ"Ñ"Ñ"µ СÑ€?¶µн¸Ñ- IL2 Forgotten Battles.
ÑÑ" ² нµ²µ- Ace Expansion Pack.
ПµÑ€л ¥?Ñ€боÑ€- Pacific Fighters.

There are also four add-ons available and I suggest you grab them if you can find them:

ž¿µÑ€?Ñ"*¸Ñ "И?Ñ€б?Ñ€осс?"- Barbarossa.
'Ñ"оÑ€о' ¤Ñ€онÑ"- Battle Over Europe.
ž¿µÑ€?Ñ"*¸Ñ "Ил?у"- Fall Blau.
"оÑ€о³¸ 'о'нÑ"- don't know if there is a Western equivalent, title translates roughly as "Dear Wars".

I bought mine while in Kiev in April. Great fun, but you may have to dual-boot with a Russian Windows version to get them to install- I couldn't get them to install on an English-language W2000 Pro, but no problem at all on a Russian XP installed as dual boot. So grab a Russian XP Pro as well while there- you may or may not need it.

And check the 1C website for shops in St. P. that sell 1C products- I think they list several vendors for all major Russian cities. http://www.1c.ru/

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif This, actually, traslates into "The Roads of War". A very good set of off-line static campaigns for the Eastern Front for both sides.
There is another off-line static campaign set is being prepared by 1C - "The Road to Japan" or something like this, it's obviously for the PF. Should be released at the middle of Julay. The disc will contain several campaings for either side and most up-to-date patch for PF and PF/FB(m).

Vladimir, I stand corrected http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif....... or rather, my dictionary does http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif. Thanks for the news about that Pacific add-on; I will be going to Kyiv again in August or September so hopefully it will be available by then. Is it a Russian version of "Banzai"?

Thanks for the titles and for clearing the addon release status for all. No wonder I haven´t found any info yet... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Also, like that Gato guy used to say:
BTW, I think that the FB/PF Russian addon should be released in other markets too!!!

(Well, he could have said that instead of rambling about destroying Carthago if they had had flight sims in classical Rome. Word.)

Lost in translation. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Actually this phrase can be read and translated in both ways. The problem is how the word "оÑ€о³¸ is pronounced.
In may mean plural from "оÑ€о³? (a road), or it may be a adjective "оÑ€о³о' (dear) in a plural state. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif All depends on accent. If it set on the first syllable, ´žÑ€о³¸ - then it's "dear". If it set on the 2nd syllable, ´оÑ€ž³¸ - then it's "roads". Sorry for a little linguistic lesson. Hope you're not bored to death with it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I am not sure, what is "Banzai", but if this is a mission/campaign pack recently released at the Western marked by a 3rd party developer, then - no, "The Road to Japan" is developed within 1C and wasn't yet released anywhere.
They were waiting for the 4.0 patch, because the campaigns in this addon are using Ki-100. According to BlackSix, who is the author of this campaigns and works in Oleg's office, he is now adjusting the campaign to the 4.01 features, because some missions became unplayable (too hard or too simple) due to the new FM, etc.
I think, by August this addon will be already released and delivered to Kiev, so you'll be able to buy it here. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Don't be sorry about the linguistic lesson, I need them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif And I'm not bored by them either.
"Banzai" is a third-party mission pack, I believe it was done by the same outfit that did "Fall Blau" and was announced recently, which is why I thought it might be a Russian version you were referring to. But if this is a FSU-only add-on, that means there is even more to look forward to when I go to Kyiv again. Good thing my g/f doesn't read these forums, or she might think I would primarily be visiting Kyiv to buy IL2 software.............http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Lodovik, while in St. P. also try to get your hands on the latest 1C release, a Pacific mission pack called "Курс н? žº¸н?²Ñƒ", in English "Heading for Okinawa". It is scheduled to be released in Russia on July 8th. This will most probably also be a Soviet Union-only release. See the 1C website for more details, it's already on the site.

Oh, and Jesus says, "Release this fabled Russian Il-2 add-on for the international market. My father commands it."

I WILL PAY $$$ for flyable Il-10, Pe-2 and other such Eastern Front machinery if it runs on my English install. Seriously.

It will install on the English version, but then you will have to replace the RTS.DLL with the Russian one as well. This will allow you to run the game. Though, all interface will turn into Russian. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The Russian market is getting all these great sounding add-ons. Why is UBI tormenting us like this ? I'm already pining for the 1946 add-on, now there are also 1:C produced add-ons for a Russian campaign and a Japan campaign that we don't see in the West ?

There are actually USAAF, USN and USMC campaigns, along with IJA and IJN campaigns. No Russian ones in there. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But to publish them outside the ex-USSR, someone have to translate in English the campaign texts, which originally were made in Russian language.

I see. But it was released almost a year ago. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif While the discussion is about the recent add-on, so I didn't understand what you mean. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I dont think this will be a huge deal for most as I know my way about the IL2 interface like the back of my hand and use the guages in the aircraft. Hopefully the community will not be split in two by this add on.
