In QMB Coral Sea map, I tried carrier bombing with the corsair & 2ea. 2000 lb bombs.

after 8 direct hits the carrier finely sunk....That is fine & about right I would guess..

But, l what I find deplorable for this simulation is: NOT!!! one dam*ned puff of smoke or even a tiny show of burning anywhere at any time...not even a hint of dammage at all..
there was a little bomb burst flash at the time of explosion on the flight deck, which is nicely done, but nothing else...heck, even ms cfs2 of long ago had a smoke & flame burning on the ships as they sunk below the waves...
this just takes away from lthe feeling of fun with bombing ships in my humble opinion.
Olag & crew should take a look at silent hunter for shome ship damage...

There are great smoking/damaged ship effects, but they only happen when it sinks, and even then just until the smoking bit is underwater. They need to have the damage happen earlier is all.

Well, with a bit of skip bombing on the whole convoy of Japanese ships I found that the escorts did smoke a bit.
I also see what you are saying...The carrier did have a small puff of smoke for a very short time just before it sunk.
still not very good though.
They also need to fix the bomb release because it doesn't release all of the time..you have to press the button again & by then you have missed your drop point...bummer

Here I was thinking my joystick had a faulty bomb release button, good to see that it isn't just my joystick which doesn't drop bombs when I press bomb drop button. Even the hat switch has the same trouble ie press to look left and the d*a*m*n thing looks right or up or down or not at all, extremely frustrating to say the least.

If you have negatice G's, as in trying to dip the nose down for a final correction, the bomb will not release... you need 1G or higher to release your bombs ... but remember, if you're pulling back too much, you'll launch the bombs up in an arc.

I try to ease off the stick and have no inputs for a split second before release to make sure I get a good drop.
