I am one of the poor saps who have to log in to the ubi forum every time I want to post something.
Now I notice that as well as going to the log in screen every time,I have to enter badly generated random words into two seperate boxes!
I had to refresh the screen 3 times just to get some words I could decipher.
Is ubi trying to cut down on the traffic to this forum or something? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Huh, the loggin issues should be resolved now. Have you cleared cache and cookies and rechecked the "Remember Me" box?

JG52Uther

Yes did all that, and no it didn't work...
At least it keeps me from posting so much http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

It might be connected to Ubi's online shop?
I've seen something similar after visiting the shop. These fields do appear there.

if you've visited that shop, clear all the cookies for this site in your browser.

Do you mean it's gone back to the way it was a couple days ago and the way it's been for a while when it wouldn't keep you logged in every time you closed your browser? Yes it logs you in when you hit "reply" or "login" but it almost always takes a while to log you in, and often seems to get stuck doing it so I have to hit reply several times before it works.

This forum is a joke, I've never seen a website that doesn't save your login when you return to it. At least you don't have to enter in your password every time you want to post but it's still horrible. I know it's not the fault of Ms K or the mods here but it's still a disaster. You'd think Ubi would care about providing a forum that people could use properly.

I've had the same problem for many weeks and yes, my cookies were cleared many times, thank you....http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It's a little better now in that when I click on 'Reply' it will log me in, but the forum still does not automatically recognize and log me in like it used to for years.

Well I removed those cookies and now it doesn't send me back to UBI but I think it sends me to the basement where the hampster digs around in a paper filing cabinet to see if I'm registered. It only takes him about a month to see if it's ok to let me post.

I've got IE set to auto delete cookies so no one knows about my Sheep fetishism websites, so it's not that.

Hi guys

The issue was raised by one of the other FM team earlier today, however we're a little unsure where the issue is sourced so can I ask anyone having this issue to take a screen shot and post the link to the hosted image here please?

It will help us work out where the issue stands and who we need to contact to sort it out, thanks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thank you for the offer of help. However, I'm not really sure just what you want a screenshot of.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I mean, everything looks normal except that when I come to the forum, it does not recognize me and automatically log me in like it used to for years.

Yupper, no screen-shot to speak of Ma'am. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I couldn't log in for a long time. Now, the system doesn't log me in until I click reply. But I can live with that.

I just saw The Social Network last night. I'm really not into that Facebook stuff and don't see the big attraction to it.

Every time I try to post and after a little wait I get this and then you wait awhile again then I can post and this happens every time.

edit: it simply doesn't remember, perhaps it's dementia, it is a little old.

cheers.

We're aware of the remember me issue, although this was fixed and as far as we know bar a small few now works for most people. However the issue JG52Uther mentioned about needing to complete two boxes with capture text is a situation we're not aware off, however it will be a great deal easier to get the situation looked into if we've some form of visual evidence demonstrating what exactly is happening http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Sorry, but no it wasn't. Yes it basically remembers us, but we still have to hit reply or login to get it to show us as logged in. As I said, it often seems to get stuck when it's going from showing us as not logged in to being logged in, or it takes a long time to process the logging in, which is frustrating. It's better than not having to type in our passwords every single time we come here, but it's still annoying and sometimes it will keep getting stuck over and over again and not log me in at all. As I said, there's no reason for it to do this, I've never seen a forum that didn't keep you logged in via cookies. I know it's not your fault but whoever is in charge of the technical side of running the forums here is bad at their job.

Yes...this is when it started. Until they did that everything here was fine, and nobody in charge here has acknowledged that the Facebook thing seems to have coincided with the login issues.

Actually it is fixed for me, when i come to the site I'm already logged in. It used to be that I had the sorta-fix where I got logged in after clicking reply, but it fully works for me now.

It's just that I have to log in every time to post and it take a considerable amount of time to log me in.
It is simply a pain in the bum.

and it doesn't log me in as Ibis anymore.

Not visited for many months. Came back few weeks ago,and couldn't log-in.
So said I'd forgotten password, got email to install new one, screen told me even new one was wrong. Ignored that, made several attempts at copying the two-silly-words-thing, and it logged me on.

This is really only to satisfy myself that everything is now operational.

So is anyone getting the captcha request as per the opening post?

If you are, that is the screenshot we need, as it appears not everyone is getting that?

As posted by Ms-Kleaneasy - the remember me function 'should' be working, so please don't get confused over that and the captcha question from the OP.

Hi mate, as of today, I need to click the login/join at the top of the forum to login instantly. It does not seem to remember me until I do that or click reply.

There really isnt much to capture, as thats all that happens.

Its much better than it was a few weeks ago, as I had to go to the login page each time I posted, but it still doesnt just remember me instantly as soon as the forum is entered like it used to before these issues started. I cleared my cache and cookies last night.

It used to login automatically for me but no longer does. When I click on the login button near the top of the forum page, I have a connection reset page (firefox) come up. If I refresh that page, it'll log me in and returns me to the forum.

Sorry all for the delay in getting back to this one.

So I understand things in short....

Some of you are still suffering from the remember me issue

a small number are seeing the catcha screen requiring you to type in random numbers/letters to login (as per screen posted my monty)

As frustrating as it is the remember me issue is one which we've reported many times and to some degree is fixed. I say some degree... they've said its fixed but we know some of you are still having problems, we will pass that on but I don't anticipate any overnight fix on that one http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Catcha, this one is a whole new issue we've not seen so I'll pass the screen shot on and hopefully we can find out whats triggering it and get that sorted http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks all
