How's the new cat 5.1?

I have not had any problems with the new drivers on my 9800 Pro. That with the new PF patch took care of a lot of the graphical problems I was having with PF

Working fine here on my X800 Pro.

But then I didn't have any graphical issues with the 4.11 or 4.12 drivers either.

I got a huge FPS loss from somewhere around 45 - 50 fps to 1 - 2 fps installing 3.04m into FB+ and 3.04 into PF AND installing the Cat 5.1.
The game is totally uplayable!
P 4 3.0 GHz
1.5 Gb
ATI 9800 128
Hercules Game Theatre XP

cat 5.1's seem fine to me. I'm using a 128mb 9600XT and patch 3.04. The only time I get slowdown is when I'm flying low over a town with a lot of buildings. Aside from that, everything is fine

No issues for me either, but then I rarely seem to get issues with these releases (perhaps I don't drive my machine hard enough?). The only ones I've seen glitches with in PF have been the 4.11s. I'm liking the way the latest patch and graphics drivers are running together.

XP2400, WinXP SP2, 128Mb 9600Pro, 1Gb PC2700, 3.04m.

Uninstall your drivers, Mate. Then then clean the old drivers out using a utility called Driver Cleaner (http://www.drivercleaner.net/) to get rid of any old driver files, then reinstall. See if that helps. From what you said, it couldn't hurt http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Good Luck

I would be willing to bet that you had it set to application preferance, if so it would have maxed out your AA/ansio settings.

Running smooth here along side ATI tray tools and 9800Pro overclocked 425/356.

Help please! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

OK, I just installed the Catalyst 5.1 and Catalyst Control Panel. The ATI install always seems to screw something up everytime I run it (I had similar problems when I installed the last version 4.11 or whatever it was.

When I reboot my PC after install, I get this:

"CLI.exe Common Language Runtime Debugging Services" with the actual error being:

"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0xc44 (3140), Thread id=0xc48 (3144)

Click OK to terminate
Click CANCEL to debug the application

I've installed the .NET framework (v. 1.1) already, and I should have the java runtime installed (because I think that's how I got it fixed last version.

The Catalyst control panel won't open, and I get the same errors when I try to open it up.

Any help??? Thanks!

John

Hmm...not sure I dont use CCC, its too buggy for me. Try asking the same question over the guru3d.com forums.
