If we use our light AA deck guns, such as 20mm single, duel, and quads on surface ships, will the ship take damage and will crew members be killed. Will crew members be visible ?

I'm confident by watching the videos that enemy ships will take damage from our gunfire. Unfortunately I sincerely doubt we'll be able to wound or kill enemy sailors. (It would be great if enemy sailors could be shot at ala battlefield 1942 style!) Our own shipmates however from the sounds of it will surely be able to be wounded or killed. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Why to use AA gun that way?
Maybe it could be useful for suppressing return fire, but it seems an improper wast of ammo.

Is there a proper waste of ammo?

I think that shooting to unarmed sailors on the deck of a cargo ship is unproper of a naval officer. After that, there should be a video showing SS oficers bringing you to Auschwitz http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Leavin that apart, your crewmen will be able to get injured, as shown in a screen where you can see the damage panel:

You should notice that when the crewmember is selected there says:
Seaman Axel Bawer, wounded, and that he is on the bunk, resting.
Patrols: 0!!! maybe he was a novice, which injured his hands while helping the cooker http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

AA guns may be good to shoot against small objectives in enemy ships, like radio antenas since can shot a burst allowing aim corrections. I think that may prove a good companion of the powerful deck gun, if correctly used.

In the battle between the HMAS Sydney and DKM Kormoran, the German's used 37mm guns against the cruiser, sailors aboard the Kormoran reported seeing sailors on the Sydney "dropping like rag dolls".
The use of AA weapons against a small combatant like a destroyer or armed merchantman could make a difference in a surface battle
