Thanks to our awesome game shops politics, pre-ordering the game will result in you paying twice as much if you'll just get it yourself when it's released.

Not pre-ordering. Not even buying until reading some opinions. The whole mumba-jumba about the last AC freezing PS3's comes to mind...

My prefered gameshop (which supplies me with foreign uncut versions on demand) simply doesnt offer it on pre-order yet.

I will wait and see. Things are more complex here as i have to check the quality of the dubbing (which was excellent for AC1) and the possibility of cut content first.

No cuts and high quality dubbing in AC does not automatically mean that both things will be the same with AC2.

I already had very bad surprises regarding that matter.

I'll probably pre-order it from Play.com, unless Ubi dish me out a free copy again!

Free copy? How did you get that?!

I'm probably going to wait for the limited edition to get announced and pre-order that.

This poll is bogus.
I haven't pre-ordered it, but I will for PS3. There's still at least a year before release.

And I do know my PC won't run it. It's VGA card is 6-7 generations behind the minimum for the first game. Everything else on it is just half the minimum parameters. I'm not going to have the money to replace my rig any time soon, but if I did I'd probably just spend it on my car.

???? Who told you that? It's got to be out before March 2010 according to Ubisoft, and I think Game Informer said it was coming out in Winter 2009.

I don't understand what you mean here. If I go pre-order, and put like $20 down, when I go pick up the game when it comes out, I owe $40.

How do you end up paying twice as much by pre-ordering??

Well, not really. Votes have been posted, and it has generated some discussion about people's intentions regarding buying the game and when so the purpose of the poll has been served.

I'll admit there could have been more options to vote for, but if memory serves, the forum software dictates only 5 options? Let me go check...

And everyone that voted for "I'll pick it up at some time"... should be banned. This is an AC forum!!!

I live in Russia.
The prices in here differ a lot from other countries.
To our disadvantage.

Example:
LBP did cost 150$ on preorder.

When it was released, it did cost around 95$ in every shop.
It makes NO SENSE to preorder games in Russia.
But hey, we don't have age restrictions and the content isn't being cut, so it's not THAT bad.
Like in Australia, for example. O_o'

Thank god i live in the Netherlands... No censoring/cutting. Age restrictions do apply (officially). Not that anyone bothers to check ages here anyway. Although a game costs 60 at release normally... Would be around $78 dollars I guess. Kinda expensive but you gotta do what you gotta do... even if that includes paying a lot for a cool game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'll pre-order it and pick it up even if I don't upgrade my PC by then. Maybe I don't have to; my PC can run Assassin's Creed on 800x600 resolution with med-high graphics & detail and it runs pretty smoothly.

What do you guys think, do I need to upgrade?

My PC isn't crap!

Still, I'll upgrade it anyway. Once I move.

I'll wait maybe a week to read some of the professional reviews and fan opinions, but no doubt I'll be getting it soon after.

You can watch reviews on
Good Game (http://www.abc.net.au/tv/goodgame/), they usually get to play the games before they hit the shelves. If you live in Australia, that is.

I have it on pre-order. Walked into Gamestop looking for May's issue of Game Informer and saw a box with Assassin's Creed 2 on it.

Unfortunately I did not walk out with GI. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Did it have a back cover or was it double-sided?

It had a back on it but it was nothing new, same screens from the magazine.

I walked into 2 Gamestops but neither had it yet. One of the clerks had it from her subscription...

Oh well, here's a link to the magazine. A bit blurry, but you can still read it... barely.

Link's been neutralized.

Thanks, I already read the scans though. I still like having a hard copy to fangirl over. (No I'm not a fangirl)

You can check out FYTJ's blog (http://lifelessly-yours.blogspot.com/2009/04/assassins-creed-2-facts-theories-and.html) for what's been discussed/discovered so far.

Yeah, but way shorter than reading through the entire forum.

I'm going to pre-order. Just have to wait and see which store sells it very cheap. Prices here usually range form E50 to E90

I'll go to a game store ON the release date. Hopefully, there will be a nice crowd trying to get it. I have always enjoyed good fights http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif . Maybe I could bring along a hidden blade..........

Or you could bring some metsubishi and steal someone else's game while they're blinded.
