I know this is about the umpteenth post on the topic but this AI (4.04) has just gotta go! I'm sick of flying against aircraft that are comparible in terms of speed/roll rate/climb etc and being walked all over. I'm no Gunther Rall but I aint some no-hoper straight from flight school with 30 minutes behind the wheel. If I can't pull sustained 5g's then these guys shouldn't be able to either. I would go so far as to say that a rookie shouldn't be able to pull the same loads as an ace. An AI's stamina (and that of the player) should increase the more he flies. Rookie blacks out at the site of blood while an ace should be able to hold 4g turns no probs (Hell if they can do it racing cars, why can't a pilot with years of experiences?)

Go up against an Me 262 and these guys - especially the aces - fly at warp speed almost continuously. Try that for yourself in a 262 and you got..oh... say about 30 seconds before your engines flame out. No matter what you fly the AI can, mark this, ALWAYS out fly you. Even coming off high bleed maneouvres they seem able to out accelerate humans in identical aircraft.

Follow the AI through some of their maneouvres and you black/red out and lose sight of they dance off to chew the tail out of either your flight or you!

Hammer away at AI gunners and all you get for your troubles is a plane full of holes and a PK while they go on their merry way.

Head on passes with AI result in collisions - playing chicken is one thing but the ignorance of not blinking at all is quite another.

And another thing - go head to head with almost any AI and you get a PK. Despite the fact you're sitting behind 2 inches of armour plated glass and 5 feet of engine and props to hide behind but it is ALWAYS wounded or PK. Fine, I accept the risks involved in head-ons but to ALWAYS suffer this just stinks.

Make AI challenging, by all means, but keep in mind the AI is supposed to posses human characteristics all the same. Ie, he's not superman and can pull 10g turns till the cows come home and he no more wants to die or be shot down than I do.

Sorry guys - just needed to vent. FB/PF is back on the shelf for me till the next update comes out. I play computer games to relax, not see how many different swear words I can string together in one breath. I get enough practice at that at work and with the dogs when they dine on my new suit...

My issue with the AI are that they are too easy to kill, even set to ace. There's hardly any satisfaction playing offline for me. I purposely fly inferior planes just to get challenged and some slight satisfaction. They even shoot me down from time to time. I guess I am just used to being challenged by live pilots that are better than I am. I don't get many kills against live bodies, but flying against live bodies just makes flying against AI a joke at times.

I agree... this AI patch has been a real step backwards.

Maybe with the untold hours each of us has flying this sim we really are "aces" in the AI sense of the word and so scoring kills isn't that big of a deal for us and as a way of making up for all this Oleg and the guys have made the AI some kind of hybred alien human with extra sensory perception, untold stamina and strength and the ability to will their planes beyond their abilities http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

My only problem with the AI is the planes flown by the AI exceed there structural limits. Try a 500mph dive with a zero behind you, it will keep up all the way then pull out like its got a hand brake. Theres also AI not having the equivilent of a black out.

When they sort these problem out then I'll be allot happier with the AI.

Yea but c'mon you gotta admit that killing an "ace" ai who is basically superman, is somewhat satisfying right? or did I miss something ? And even more so satisfying if they are in way better planes than you. But you guys may not feelte same.

Heck, I'd be happy if they just acted like they had some kind of SA or tactical awareness instead of dropping their bombs and performing evasive manuevers as soon as somebody yells, "Fighters, twelve o'clock!".

What about staying on the bomb run and letting your escorts and tailgunner cover your six?

Mission accomplishment before troop welfare!

The choice we face between fighting Artificial Intelligence offline or Human Intelligence online is the same choice the Russians had to make between fighting Hitler or Stalin.
