Will they ever change back the spread, that the 0.50s have, to be equal to the spread of the four MGs on the p39s and spits?!

Currently only american planes have a very very narrow spread, not in the horizontal plane but in the vertical!
Try a spit and use the four MGs only and u can see plenty of hits on ur target, even when u are out of convergence. Its because it has a wider spread. Same with the p39.

US A/C in the game have a very very concentrated spread which makes it more difficult to hit what u are aiming for. Now u have to be exactly on convergence distance to be lethal. This was changed about 2 years ago in a patch and Oleg was persuaded to do this even though he said that it wasnt realistic at all. The reason was that some people argued that the 0.50s werent deadly enough when they were spread out. But in those days we didnt have the aileron/elevator/rudder damage that we have coded today. The 0.50 round is more deadly today, therefor I think its time to switch back to bigger spread. (the 4 MGs on the spits are a perfect example of how it should be!!!)

Personally I think the .50s would be more lethal if they were changed back to the wider spread.

How about a seperate 0.50 cal forum?

Why bother making a thread? The .50's are not likely to be changed, and there have been 1,001 threads on them.

I'm getting ticked off by people ranting about how the .50's are messed up. Get used to the fact that NO game is perfect. You'll just have to live with that fact.

The point convergeance was chosen by certain forum members.

The question was asked 'Do you want point convergeance or a Spread' the answer came back 'point'.

I think some people aren't bothering to read or don't even care to read it because of the bad stigma people have given the .50s

You're absolutely right. I'm able to hit a hell of a lot more with the .30s than with the .50s. The .30s spray and are more spread out than the .50s. Anyone who's used these rather than stick to their favorite planes that do not use them will realize this.

I guess you can not please everyone. In the past there were hundreds of request to get rid of the shotgun effect of the Brownings and put them on the same trajectory line as all the other rounds in the sim. I only wanted them desynced, I didnt mind the spread. I actually thought it was very effective for BnZ.

If they were desynced from day one, I doubt the users would be so eager to have them grouped.

But of course I may be wrong... I just assume that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Point convergence is my preference.

Yes Ronn, but that's because you know how to aim properly..... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

For new users I guess shotgun would be preferred choice, but... of course no doubt about it, point conv is most lethal.

I just cut the 109 in half with the P-40... from the dead six!
They are just falling off the sky under .50 fire like there's no tomorrow.
I have my conv at around 250m because I tried to get all conv for gattack and for a2a.

190s are somewhat tougher, but nothing that one nice burst at the wing cannot cure.
Or at least make them totally combat incapable.

I know how to try, and I know it can be done. The rest is practice. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif Reviewing tracks at 1/4 speed with arcade=1 showed me a lot of things I was doing wrong.

A well aimed burst does pretty well IMO. Also, it appears to me that we already get a "sort of" box convergence as the bullet streams converge and diverge near the crossover point. More so even with a longer convergence.

Box conv would be great too... very effective too.
I haven't really checked that...
