No, if I was teasing I'd show a Murmansk screenshot http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif But nobody has seen those since the early alpha and I'm keeping it that way http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Im really looking forward of the Murmansk map.The area between Kirkenes and Petsamo is very familiar to me since I have visited many wartime crash sites in the area.To be able to fly there is very exciting!Thank you Ian for making these maps. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

now this is great !

thank you so much for new eastern front maps ! + these maps are very interesting for historical mission builders

I would have one question :
what you think is the amount of work required to winterize a map when compared to build new ones like you did ?

Oh wow that's really nice. Thanks so much for making wide airfields like that. If only they were on all maps.

S~ ianboys

I just was wanting to know who the map person for IL2 is. Is it you? And if it is you, could you tell me how possible it would be to map the entire world like it is in Flight Simulator along with Lat/Long and so forth...

It would be my dream come true to do battle through New York, Boston, the mountains of Colorado, my own state of Missouri, and all over the place LOL!

Just imagine all the "what if" scenerios we could do!

Well, considering it takes somewhere along the lines of 6 months or so to finish an IL-2 sized map, think how long it would take to do the world!!

Squadron scrambles will look pretty spectacular now!
I think it's safe to say that this will be incorporated into BoB.

World Map? Not possible with FB/PF engine. What you got in PF with several maps (say NG) is what the engine can do - more and there will be no computer to run that map for a few years http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

'Scuse my ignorance but just where IS Kurland? All Google comes up with is a hotel in South Africa - didn't say whether it had a private airstrip http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

It's generally spelt COURLAND in English. We went for the German spelling as it is similar to the Russian too.

Also, in the map we use a lot of 1940's German place names instead of their modern equivalents.

Ian,
Great to see you around. Its a long time since you were a regular contributor - at least to my knowledge.

Especially I miss your mission contributions. I remember you made I nice set of single missions called "Training fighters". Are there still some place where we can find your old IL2 missions?

Also, I am Norwegian, and would very much love to see what area the Murmansk map covers.

Thanks for teasing us.

Petter
