Try "Aces High". U wont't regreat it. The best(?) WW1 air combat film. Mine choice in top 5 air combat films. Try find some of those titles on http://www.allmovie.com/. I'm however fun of this films also http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Wings. (It's a silent B&W from 1927 about WWI pilots. It took the very first Best Picture Oscar. Just got it at a garage sale for two bucks. Neat. And a bit weird. But some amazing dogfight action with pretty wild effects and nasty death scenes of pilots getting shot up in their planes.)

Battle of Britain.
Midway.

Dark Blue World...

They used that spanish flying #$?!* (no ofenses spaniards http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif), the Revi gunsight was in the wrong side (left instead of right) and they keep mixing and changing planes, MkV-I with MkIX, all the time. When Franta land to save his friend it was a MkV-I, when they are flying it turns into a MkIX, and so on.
Nevertheless very well done battle scenes, better than Pearl Harbor. Liked it.
Had FB made me a WWII nerd? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

I would add Blue Max to the list.

The Battle of Britain. Period.

Everything else pales by comparison, except maybe "Flying Leathernecks." http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Saw the BoB DVD on sale at Borders yesterday for $9.99.

Not exactly a typical WW2 movie, but Catch-22 has some great footage of B-25 Mitchells.

"As weaponry, both were good, but in far different ways from each other. In a nutshell, I describe it this way: if the FW 190 was a sabre, the 109 was a florett, or foil, like that used in the precision art of fencing." - G√ľnther Rall

actually the reason why the Hispano merlin powered 109's feature so much in DBW is they used a lot of previously unused left over footage from "Battle of Britain"

Hope you like "Bridges at Toko Ri". My dad's fighter squadron, VF-52, helped make that movie, just before they went to Korea! It is by far, one of the most realistic flying flicks I've ever seen.
