I'd really love to see that happen, and yes I'd pay a full price for such an addon.
Still, I see no way of this happening, unless maybe -and this is a big Maybe- some talented developer group is able to secure the licence to continue developing the FB/PF series in the future,in a similar manner Shockwave has done with BoBII:WoV and B-17:TLR.
This could probably only happen in a rather distant future when the current engine is considered obsolete by Oleg & Co. One can allways hope, though...

for the two that went thums down must be fighter pilots that are scared this post has had over 200 views if you look at this post please answer the poll either way that we can let someone know what we would like to have in the greatest sim ever

I'd say noones voting because they know how much it takes to implent. A single engine fighter takes months to model, code, implement and bug out. How long do you think it would take to do dozens of seaplanes, dozens of transpots, dozens of heavies? Oleg is concentrating on BoB, so just give up mate http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I voted no, not because I don't want to see this stuff, but I have been around these forums long enough to know that this issue has already been decided. It isn't going to happen. People have been asking for this stuff for several years, the answer has always been "No". BOB is where Oleg is putting the vast majority of his efforts, not in IL-2.

Its always a tough one because to make a flyable aircraft the modeller, either 1C or third party needs everything from blue prints to colour photo's of each and every component and then 1C needs exact flight data which covers every facet of the aircraft. And all that takes allot of time to collate then model the plane. With some planes not all that information is available.

BoB might be different with more third party input but for myself, I only intend to fly official 1C:M releases and no third party planes without the 1C:M stamp, and cargo planes don't really interest many people. 4 engined heavies do though, as to medium bombers.

Throw in some maps of the Philippines, Rabaul, the Slot, etc. and I'll even pay $75.

But as mentioned previously, it'll never happen kiddo... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

Still...one can dream (sigh). http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sleepzzz.gif

As for those of you who have always continued to say "It will never happen" consider this:

It was said that there would never be a flyable FW190.

It was said that there would never be a Pacific theatre add-on for IL2.

and last but not least Oleg himself once said that there will NEVER be a flyable P-51 in IL2.

So anyone who uses the word "never" on these topics really doesn't know what they're talking about. The generally prevailing opinion that obviously has not been held historically true and that even most naysayers would not want to see come true about no more add-ons for IL2 is just inconsistant and wrong.

Hope is the one thing in the universe that by it's very nature is never futile. And we can keep hoping for more content as long as we like. No ammount of "it will never happens" will ever change my mind after what I've seen in this community. And who knows, if there is some money in it, why not make the add-ons people want, if they are possible?

Thanks Oleg!

Guys, there are going to be 3 more add ons.

No heavy bombers are included.

None will be done in this sim anymore.

The future is BoB.

Enjoy what we have, I do.

Voted no.

I love Il-2, don't play anything else (until this: http://web.ukonline.co.uk/susannawilliams/ http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/metal.gif), but 6dof made it obsolete.

All of Oleg's power and resources should now be focused on BoB.

End of debate.

Too bad, son, but it's not gonna happen. No torpedo bombers due to lack of information or threat of lawsuit. No heavies because nobody is willing to do the cockpits (including gunner pos.), let alone complete it in time. Flyable seaplanes? If we don't have time to produce any of the above, how is it possible to produce any of those either?

what they could do would be to create some torpedo bobmer campaign with the aircraft they already have

the il2T,Beaufighter and the A20 can all carry torps

perhaps there could be a beaufighter campaign set around D Day as i think they were used against German U boats, to protect the invaision fleet

I made an IL-2T torpedo bomber campaign. See link below.

Thumbs down for a variety of reasons. I do like bombers and do enjoy flying them but they need to be useful.

Transport aircraft are included on the list for instance and are not useful from a player perspective. Nobody should want to feel the need to conduct what is in essence civil aviation duties in a combat sim. We have civil sims to do that sort of thing.

I would think that having a B-29 or a B-17 would be fun...but they are a heavy investment and so far all attempts at doing the interiors has not been upto spec.
