Or, Build 1000 Zeros from scrap. Steel a carrier sail to midway and torpedo the American fleet. Not sure how the Zero handles against F15s and if the radar will pick us up http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

I lack the patience or the time to not use time compression.

Unless time-compression has been added to COOP (I doubt it, wouldnt make any sense), the COOP-missions will be loooong. "Real" is fine, but "real" can be boring. And flying the virtually skies in a straight line for hours ... na, got better things to do http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
So I'll go with shorter mission most of the time. And I think I'll stick to maps with islands or continents, blue sky with blue water gives no thrill, to anonymous.

And thats IMHO another problem:
I'd guess that eastern front in Europe had shortest average distances to targets. In that regards IL-2 was an "action"-simulation, concentrating on low/mid-level runs.
Late-war western Europe had medium distances. In the early stages *all* flights had to start from UK (or Africa, Sizilia, etc), later the bombers and escorts often still flew from there to gain altitude. But the theatre still had nice mixture, escorts often strafed trains and trucks after the bombers were delivered.

With PTO we get the extreme side: possibly the longest average mission-durations. This will result in more high-alt interceptions.

The campaign missions are over a hundred miles to most targets. Unless you use time skip that is at least an hour to an hour and a half mission time. For coop I just make mission distances shorter(maybe 8-15 minutes) to target then back. That makes for a palyable 20-30 min mission. It is all in the mission design. Very good shorter distance mission can be made without a hitch.
