You might get some joy from the bookseller directly. It's the same one where I got my copy 2 weeks ago so I suspect they may have some more. Details...

*EDIT* Wrong details supplied. Sorry. The ones below are correct.

E-mail: mike@hayonwyebooksellers.com
Phone: 44 (0)1497 820352

I've been looking quite awhile for it. I didn't want to get vol 2 until I read vol 1, and was about to give up. I should have them read by the time vol 3 comes out. Thanks again.

Homeless you are an utter rotter! I went through ABE, then Hay-on-Wye Booksellers a couple of weeks ago, only to be told that SOMEONE had just got the last copy. I bet it was you!
I'm now on the waiting list. Bah humbug.

With such an obviously high demand the publisher of this book should do another run... the idea of spending $120 US to get a used copy from Amazon doesn't appeal to me.

I emailed Christer Bergstrom a while ago about this. He said that it was totally down to the publishers, and he hoped that if they got enough enquiries they might consider it.

I actually managed to get a brand new copy of vol 1 about 3 weeks ago while on a visit to Birmingham International Airport U.K.

Ian Allan Publishing run a enthusiast book and model shop from the viewing lounge their specialising in aircraft oddly enough. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

While their i mentioned to the manager that i had tried everywhere to get this book with no joy. Next thing he is leading me to a section in the bookshop where there just happened to sit 1 pristine copy of vol 1. Turns out they had recently done a stock check and this book had turned up.Needless to say i snapped it up straight away.

I had been trying to get a copy for months and had visited and contacted many bookstores while on my travels and also on the internet including Ian Allan's. I had also tried companies who specialise in tracking out of print books down. One such company were very pleased to inform me that they found a copy in fine condition for only ‚£68.YEAH RIGHT.

So guys, instead of trying all those bookshops and sites on the net i was thinking it might be a good idea to try places like aircraft museums where they have gift/bookshops, Airport enthusiast shops and the like just on the off chance they have a copy just sitting there collecting dust. Would be better than paying $120 at Amazon.

It didn't say my copy was used. I assume it's new. It's coming from England, so I don't expect it for awhile.

Pacifica have no plans to reprint vol.1. Email them and make them aware of the potential sales. Either that or scour the length and breadth of the country to see if there's one hiding somewhere.

"Black Cross/Red Star", Vol. 3 will be published by Eagle Editions. So if anyone should be asked about a second editions of Vol. 1, it should be the guys at Eagle Editions.

See:

But first of all, the book on Hermann Graf & Alfred Grislawski will be out soon. See:

It's Homeless' fault /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif - he had my copy as well. Mine were apparently being shipped for a day or two then - wham. When I spoke to the guy at Hay-on-Wye he knew exactly which book I was after before I opened my mouth. It seems that they found 2 new copies of vol.1 under a pile of something, told abebooks who sold them a thousand times over before realising that there were just two. Bah humbug.

Buzz, I hope that you aren't getting done here. Vol 2 is available everywhere. Even if you are paying 'shipping at an incredibly slow pace' rate, surely buying the book from the UK must be costing an arm and a leg over what you could pay at home? Might be worth checking out.
