Just how helpful with they be? Will they feed me information/advice without having to ask, or are they only there to pass down orders to thier subordinates?

Say I'm under an unexpected attack from convoy escorts. I've initiated a crash dive and I'm hovering over my sound operators shoulders, intently awaiting word from him on the attackers position and whatnot. Being aloof as I am about other goings on at this time...would my XO perhaps say "Sir, I think we should rig for silent runnning" or "SIR! We are passing crush depth!!" Granted, I have a good idea of what they'd be saying under ther breath.

That may be a terrible example of sub operations (it's going to be all new to me), but I hope you get the jist of what I'm asking. I really hope they'll be this interactive...otherwise my boat, my crew, and myself may not survive very long. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

well i know we can give to officers TDC orders now, which is cool, your torpedo officer will do the calculations, all you have to do is order them into the TDC screen, or you can order your man to do that himself http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif but i hope they have some initiative, like if they see a leek, i hope they will stop it themselves http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
