View Full Version : Where are our Achievements/Trophies?

I was just thinking that the game will be out in less than a month and that we still have no Achievements/Trophies list: how long will we have to wait?

oh it's alright Xana,
you can keep yourself busy with Uncharted 2, or MW2
while you wait for AC2
xD ??

oh and we have to wait and see

Cjail

I remember well that many major titles had their list of Achievements/Trophies published far before the release date, so: what is the point of this long wait?
The only reason to release the list of Achievements/Trophies is to whet the appetite before the exit of the game: a little more and we will have the game itself!

Ubisoft we are all counting on you: Give us the list!

I know we had reveal plan with partners, but I haven't heard of them, I'll try to see if it's still on the go otherwise I'll try to post them here http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you release the list is there a change of a little bit spoiling? I dont really need a list of trophies. Why people like to see a list of it anyway? Someone please tell me? You can't achieve the rewards before playing it.

Atmon
10-22-2009, 08:48 AM
No that's always the issue, and I share the same concerns.

We have a couple of surprises, and the story get really deeper, and we don't want to ruin it because of an achievement list, so the list I got is spoiler free.

It's more enigmatic, but at least you'll all be able to enjoy the game experience at its full potential http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I absolutely agree with you about the spoilers risk but many lists keep the important/secret TROPHIES/ACHIEVEMENTS hidden: can't you just make a selection?
You could exclude every TROPHIES/ACHIEVEMENTS regarding the story and just and post the generic ones, like these one of AC: Kill all the Templars, Complete all Reach High Points, Assassinate 100 guards, Perform 50 stealth assassinations, etc...
I don't think that knowing how many "Brutes" we have to kill for the TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT would spoil the story!

what he means is he hates the person who first put achievements in a game, so basically he hates the firm who first came up with the idea of achievements (before any1 say's it no this wasn't xbox live) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

but he has a point achievements cause a lot of people to ignore the actual game and just go for the achievements as they feel a high game score/number of trophies will make them cool. then they come and complain about the game because it is repetitive and uninteresting as they totally ignored the story.

I agree. I like that they have an achievement for hiring 5000fl worth of courtesans. And that they have an achievement called 'Macho Man'. XD

There was a little bit of humor (there was that one achievement where you had to throw beggar women, that was a fun waste of 20 minutes), but for the most part, yeah, AC1 took itself way too seriously. Maybe the Italian culture rubbed off on the development team. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hey guys, take a look at the "An Old Friend Returns" achievement again. The gamerscore for that achievement is 100. The only achievements that give 100G are the ones you get for beating the game's campaign. Think about that fact, plus the description for the achievement...

*SPOILER* (Well, not actual spoiler, rather theorizing about the ending)

I think this could mean 2 things, assuming it means Viddic.

1. 'Friend' is meant sarcastic, and Viddic + Abstergo guards find the hide out, forcing you to escape the place.

2. The guys you were with are actually your enemies, and Viddic comes to rescue you (with or without guards). This might mean the assassins are the bad guys, or it proves there are no good / bad guys, or they just acted as if they were assassins, but actually weren't.

Or, if it hasn't got to do anything with Viddic, it might mean the guys Lucy brings you to betray you, kick her out / make it look like she's dead, and in the end she comes and saves you, or you find out she's still alive.

Also, I am SO getting that Doctor achievement http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Maybe Desmond goes to kill Vidic and has to escape because the others don't want him to?

Whilst these trophies may answer some questions, the open up a whole load more. I myself want to know who the old friend is, maybe it could be someone from the 'Farm'?

I think it was, but Viddic thought there were no survivors, and then the assassins attacked Abstergo first, and then freed Desmond, so maybe some more escaped?

Could be neither, it could be him talking about what he has seen or found out about Abstergo.

In the screenshot thread (i think) they've posted some pics of Ezio wearing a mask... and if you look at the trophies there is one that's titled "Masquarade". So maybe you can only wear the mask in this sequence... (probably in Venice)
What do you guys think?

ps: I sure hope not, so we can also wear a mask outside this memory sequence http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Possible Spoiler

What i think is that since you can hear whats happening in the real world when your in the animus, desmond over hears lucy and shaun talking about something, and when he gets out of the animus 2.0 he escapes from the hideout because he is angry or feels betrayed.

or has anyone realized that al mualim and vidic look alike, maybe thats what they mean as "Old" because both vidic and al mualim were old,
"Friend" as in vidic always talked to desmond in a friendly tone at the starting of the game as did al mualim to altair, so maybe it is vidic that causes you to escape

Wait a minute! I've got it! Remember the huge twist that nobody would see coming? Why would Desmond be highlighted in red and trying to escape his own hideout? If DESMOND HIMSELF turned bad/betrayed the assassins! It makes sense, nobody would see that coming!

mikeh1294

Hmmm... The Vitruvian Man achievement about unlocking all of Subject 16s videos shows Ezio standing.

This leads me to believe one of two thing:

1) Subject 16's ancestor was alive at the same time or earlier than Ezio, thus allowing him to leave the videos using a piece of Eden's holographic capabilities.

2) Subject 16 was a relative of Desmond. His videos are in his sub-conscious, and are unlocked in the same sort of way as the memories were unlocked in ACI.

Your thoughts?

The possibilities are endless many events may occur and our imaginations are enormous so my guessing is that we shall not have a percise answer until the release and finishing the game,
Because believe me guessing with such many possibilities in our hands will make it even harder. But i should congratulate ubisoft for making something so astonishing yet confusing,
they throw a bone and wait for the kanine(thats us BTW) give us something to keep us busy till the release not necessarily new footage or trailer

This thread has gone off topic. XD
Anyway,

I play the game and if I get a Trophy, well, lucky me. I don't care for them at all though.
What I'm saying is, I play the game through... Not getting trophies and then when I finish my first playthrough, I (might) go and get the rest of 'em...

Like with Uncharted 2, I think I ended up getting over 30 Trophies by just playing the game... Now I'm playing it again so I can get the rest of them.
