I don't think his mistake cost Hamilton the championship, the gear box problems were the deciding factor......... that and some muppets idea to run on tyres that had lost their tread in China........ HATS OFF TO kIMI though, well done http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Shame Massa could not win his home GP because of the need to get the Championship..

Could see it coming. That's sport for ya.

The Hamilton reserve slipped and he showed he is human in the last two races. Make no mistake though, he lost it rather than Kimi won it!

Which amounts to the same thing of course... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It's a pity that Italians didn't have a Ferrari motor for the Fiat G55 or MC.205, unlike the Spits and Hurris with their R&R jewels ...

Chapeau to Ferrari and its 100% Italian technology, for one time German motors and Brit cars lag behind ...

Salute to Hamilton and Alonso, they fought till the end.

Well done, Kimi!

I'm by no means a Ferrari fan, but I was so glad he won I almost wept. But Hamilton also proved that he is indeed a great driver. Few would have managed to climb from 18th to 7th position. As for Alonso... I just don't like him. So, big congrats to Ferrari and well done BMW for their second place in Constructors Championship. McLaren - better luck next time! And ditch Alonso.

You Just have to look at the make up of the team to see it's not 100% Italian.. a lot of the backroom boys and engineers are English, French, and Italians etc, as indeed are the drivers. Such is the cosmopolitan world we all live in http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

BMW Sauber and Williams under investigation

The BMW Sauber and Williams teams are being investigated by Brazilian Grand Prix stewards over possible technical irregularities on their cars at the end of Sunday's Interlagos race. The enquiries are believed to relate to fuel temperatures.

Nico Rosberg finished fourth for Williams, with Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld fifth and sixth respectively for BMW Sauber. If they were to be disqualified, it would move McLaren's Lewis Hamilton up from seventh to fourth, making him world champion, rather than Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen.

Raikkonen won the race from team mate Felipe Massa, with McLaren's Fernando Alonso third.

Actually....I dont know, Im English so I find this cheating thing vaguely amusing.

But I reckon it would spoil EVERYONES championship. Hamilton might win it by default but winning like that is a bit of a downer. And despite me disliking Raikonnen, he tried really hard in that last race and yeah If Hamilton had done better and won it...Oh well tough luck to Raikonnen....but to be told..."oh actually, you didnt win".....would suck. It spoils it for the fans as well, the F1 this season has been rubbish...just whining drivers and one cheating scandal after another.

"BMW and Williams cars locked in Brazil's parc fermeThe FIA has confirmed that the fuel temperatures of the BMW Sauber and Williams cars were outside the regulations during the course of the Brazilian Grand Prix.

As the race stewards continue to investigate the matter to decide on whether or not a punishment is necessary, a statement issued by technical delegate Jo Bauer revealed the extent of the temperature variation of the cars involved.

Article 6.5.5 of the Formula One technical regulations states: "No fuel on board the car may be more than ten degrees centigrade below ambient temperature."

The statement issued by Bauer showed that Heidfeld's fuel was 13 degrees centigrade lower than ambient at his first stop and 12 degrees centigrade lower at his second stop.

Robert Kubica's fuel varied by 14 degrees, 13 degrees and 13 degrees at his three stops; Nico Rosberg's fuel was 13 degrees and 12 degrees out at his two stops and Kazuki Nakajima's was 12 degrees out at his first stop. His second stop was inside the 10-degree limit.

Spyker technical chief Mike Gascoyne said he believed the variation would have provided a performance advantage.

"It can be five to ten horsepower easily," he told autosport.com. "The car is producing a performance advantage during the race. If they dump fuel in that is below the limit, it is an illegal performance advantage. They should be excluded from the event, there is absolutely no doubt."

The implications of a disqualification for the BMW and Williams drivers would be huge, as it could potentially move Lewis Hamilton up the order into fourth place.

In such a case, Hamilton would be crowned the world championship."

WTF?!? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif I just don't believe this! What in the world could BMW and Williams possibly hope to achieve by deliberately cheating? Only three guys mattered today, Kimi, Alonso and Hamilton. Not even a 1-2 finish would have moved BMW up the ladder, so what gives?

Yep, result stands and a good thing to and that coming from a Brit and fan of Hamilton.

The other teams in question had nothing to gain from this, the points would have made no difference to them at the end of the day..

Glad there is closure on it as it was getting to the point this season you could almost win the championships without venturing out onto the track, as the racing was being sidelined by the endless inquiries, good to see the racing prevailed and although I would dearly of loved to see Hamilton win, the best people on the day came through...... Hats off to them..

I don't see them being disqualified: after all Fernando and Lewis were not and could keep "their" pilot points for the championship...

Fernando and Lewis won their points with an irregular car...No one find much to say by Mc Laren, so let's hope it will be the same in this case. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
