In the next upcoming sim hopefully we can see this. When you strike a plane in the area of the hyraulics, and they bleed the landing gear should come down. Is this missing from our current sim?

I have had this game since it came out and I have never once seen the landing gear drop. This gives you an idea of how rare it actually is.

I hope they model radiator damage. Its amazingly NOT modeled in IL2. Oil cooler yes, but not radiator/coolent? WTF? Thats suprising considering the sim was built spacificly for a water cooled aircraft, the IL2!!!

Keep em coming fella's I had invested in the series since the first IL-2 came out. Ive seen a gagle of patches, I think that this could make the game better and your flight controls more deadly if this was implemted into the game.

Im playing this since the first demo of the good ole IL-2 Sturmovik and I have NEVER EVER seen anything like a gear dropping caused by damaged hydraulics. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

I've caused gear drop (twice I think) and had gear failure on my (damaged plane) three times I think (which was a bit of a shock when on final approach).

The only time that I've seen gear drop is when I was to drunk and hit the default G key. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Hydraulics can be destroyed, but i've never seen this cause a gear drop. After taking damage I've had to manually operate gear on several occasions, but I've never had damage cause me gear to fall down.

I've seen gear drop due to damage (and had it happen to me) but not since either the original IL2 Sturmovik or very early in the FB versions, I don't recall which. Not to say it doesn't still happen, but it's extremely rare if it does.

In old FB I have had my gear not respond to the G key. I had to manually lower it or belly in. Fortunatly I had my keys bound for I-16 flying! I have not experanced this at all in any recent versions post PF.

Its odd how features like this come and go with patches...

I've seen this happen to a Zero, but other than that, as Tully said, this was a more common sight in early IL2-days.

Looking forward to see what the BoB-damage-modell will be like.

I don't understand....what is this 'landing gear' of which you all speak? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
