UQMG for PF - Preview 4 (Final List of Features)

First a true apology to the IL2/FB/AEP/PF community. My life, as some of you know, is erratic at best and very unpredictable, so sometimes I can go months without answering your e-mails or posts. So I am sorry for the lack of updates but I have been busier than ever with family, at work and with my "other" hobby. There are some minor issues still to be worked, but the following are the features that will make the final cut for the release.

Mostly what is left before the release is the addition of a few PF maps. It will be a partial list because it would probably take a year to wait and then release all of them. Still, you get all current 43 maps of FB/AEP in addition to the PF maps I'll include. That list will come later. Here is a list of the final cut of features. I'll get cracking on some map templates... but those take time as well. I'll try my best to release this before new years, because I'll be out of pocket for a few days.

Added PF Specific Features to all FB/AEP features in UQMG
=============================================
- Support for Carrier Operations, both moving as well as Static Carriers
- Support for Carrier Operations in Dogfight Arenas
- Support for new Test Airfields (in some maps)
- All new planes, all new weapons, and changes to existing planes from FB/AEP
- Inclusion of all new planes to UQMG Aircraft DB (pictures, statistics)
- All new regiments
- All new countries/air forces
- Partial list of PF maps to be included in addition to all FB/AEP maps
- No change in weapons in arming screen (if desired)
- Time Freeze (no time of day change in mission)
- DF Feature - Ability to remove parachutes from a team's spawn area
- Kamikaze attacks (2 types) (incorporated as ground attack type)
- Maintain radio silence
- Remove parachute
- Nose Art
- All features can be saved in "uqmg" mission files
- All PF maps support V1 rockets
- New maps make use of new ground objects

New UQMG Specific Features
=============================================
- New Objective option: Make landing a requirement for completing mission
- New DF Arena option: Instead of using Rule Set, use only types of aircraft you selected for SP/Coop mission.
- Easy to select PC-Performance based Ground Object Options
- Easier, more intuitive way to select planes and copies/clones.
- Improved Flught Grid:
* Display real number of planes in main interface grid
* Hide Flight Groups that are not used
- Completely revised user interface to both reflect PF feel and user requests
- More intuitive grouping of features
- More, better, and revised help (yellow buttons)
- Less clutter, easier to use, shrink/expand features where appropriate

New UQMM (Mission Manager) Features
=============================================
- Special New DF Arena features
* Any existing mission in PF (SP/Coop/Campaign) can be converted to DF Arena!
* Missions with moving carriers automatically get converted to static carriers with CORRECT spawn areas!
- Support for all new countries
- Support for all new aircraft and regiments
- Support for all PF maps (even ones not supported in UQMG)
- Revised interface to match UQMG
- No change in weapons option
- Time Freeze option

New UQMB (Mission Briefer) Features
=============================================
- Revised interface to match UQMG
- No changes in features (already fully compatible with PF briefings)

Thanks very much for your efforts!. They are much appreciated by all, I'm sure. Personally, I would rather have a few good PAC maps, and an earlier release, than to wait until all of your templates are complete. Lack of off-line
missions and an easily customizable campaign system are the biggest failures of PF, IMHO. Have you ever considered creating a campaign generator? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

First, I believe no apology is needed. Your family comes first, as it should. It's amazing how far you have come with this PF update in so short a time!! Looking forward to the D/L whenever it comes. My hats off to you! S!
