Hello,
I have some Merlin Engine .wav files. I was wondering if anybody can tell me how I might be able to substitute the generic engine sound file, with the Merlin engine files that I have obtained?

I have gone to the samples folder and just found music sounds.

Where should I look for the Engine sound effect files and what extension do they have?

You can't. You can only alter the radio chat messages.

PF/AEP/FB don't use long sound samples. Its more like a remix studio where you have very short tones...the FB sound engine layers the sounds to create what you hear. This means that you have excellent acoustic accuracy but the aircraft don't sound like the real thing...its a tradeoff.

Hopefully less of a tradeoff as sound cards become more capable in the average system. I think the concept is a good one (I like the effort behind it!) it just needs to mature and benefit from better hardware.

I understand you wanting to put the Merlin sounds in.Nothing in the world sounds as nice! Well maybe one thing but that involves me,Kylie Minogue and a bucket of custard!

I just typed in Merlin Engine sound file into my search engine. I got the sound pack from a CFS2 (Combat Flight Simulator 2) web site.

Good luck
