Thanks for posting, I love the interviews with the Veterans http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Just watched episode 2 and loved it.

I could listen to Bob Doe all day, also Cryil 'Bam' Bamburger and the others. Amazing blokes. Bob Doe had a 'Pint of beer on his own' when he became an Ace (5 kills) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Note their convergeance : '250 yards was the official setting, Bob Doe and many others changed it to 150 yards'

I think thats the problem many have with the .303's and .50's in the game, shooting from too far away.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

What about this - (some historian said this in part 2)

"...just got your driver's licence, being allowed to drive around for a few days, and then enter into a grand prix race against the best racers in the world...and if you lose, you are either crippled or dead!"

Wow never looked at BOB from this perspective before! Seems like those young British lads back then must have had some really huge testicles in them! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Thanks for posting. I can watch them okay but every time I save one (as an avi) using Keepvid as suggested, I get a full download but neither WMP or Realplayer will play them. Any suggestions to remedy this?

Edit: Got it working now on DivX player 6.4!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

No worries dude http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif Alternatively you could download this flv player (http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10505954.html?tag=lst-0-1) and download the flash files. The flash files are much smaller in size.

I missed this series after going on hols when it was originally shown (saw 1st only back then) cursed through my hols and now thank you for finding them.

I thought the commment "any fool could fly the Spit, but you had to be well trained to fly the 109" was very telling, especially as we are continuously arguing back and forth to the merits of one plane and the other.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

LMAO..

That story about the 2 Polish guys in Episode 2 is amazing.

I forgot just how good this series was. I could leave out the Kids flying the Spitfire and just listen to all the veteran interviews, a great record to have.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

"Spitfire Ace" is great, but,I think "Bomber Crew" is better.

There's supposed to be one episode of a "Dambusters" documentary, made by 'basically' the same team of producers/etc.
I haven't seen that one,all the others are a part of my "library".<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Lyrics from Naked Raygun's "Rat Patrol".
"What we need to take control,we could use the Rat Patrol. What's that coming over the dune?...
Chasing the halftracks across the sandflats, got a nice pine box,for that desert fox, machine guns blaring, and Arabs staring wondering why,the Westerners are there. It's the same old story, and it'll happen again."

Super Post...many thanks http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I have a picture signed by Bob Doe of his Spitfire during the BoB flying alongside a 109 that he had fatally damaged and allowing the 109 to ditch in the sea.

The 109 pilot survived and his wife wrote to Bob Doe after the war thanking him for allowing her husband to survive.

In the video posted, Bob Doe says that he couldn't kill a defenceless pilot..

Best Regards,
MB_Avro.
