Hi folks
This is my first online communication in the community, the best flight sim ever, I have a few questions I hope to have answered in the near future, but my first question is this: is there any way/possibiity to change the unlimited ammunition option in IL2/PF so that I can have unlimited machine gun/cannons, but a limited ordnance, i.e. limited bombs/rockets?
If anyone can help in this regard I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanx all!

Thanks, Von Z, that's a real pity, but hey,it's probably all in the name of realism, maybe Oleg could look into it one day, meanwhile, happy crashing, dude!

Unlimited ammo is good when you start out. I used to play European air war and found flying it in so much easier than IL-2. When I progressed to IL-2 I couldn't hit anything. So I used unlimited ammo while I learned. Now that I have improved alot I use realistic ammo and gunnery. In the long run its alot more fun I think.

Limited ammo is the way to go unless you are testing something. If you are flying a mission, limited ammo adds a lot to the realism. You learn to take good shots and not "spray and pray".

You will also notice that limited ammo lets you fire all your rockets very quickly. There is a large delay between each pair of rockets when unlimited ammo is used.

Just don't fire more rockets/bombs than you are carrying.

...and everytime you bring an overused FARK joke into play, Drew Curtis strangles another kitten. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You'll become a very sloppy marksman with unlimited ammo. Don't use it.

Oleg doesnt have enough strength to strangle a kitten, his arms are too frail from typing all day. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I don't know Buzz I find unlimited ammo in Qmb is very useful for experimentation with gun convergance and accuracy. As long as you use the ammo sparingly and pay attention to the results and where your bullits are hitting it can be quite a useful frame of reference.

That's hardly what I meant, and you should know that. I'm talking about using it all the time in combat. Does "spray and pray" ring a bell?

I'd like to see an option of partial weapon loadout (a feature of CFS2) and unreliability (feature of LOMAC I think but not sure) to simulate ammo and parts shortages.
