I go into the quick mission builder, i put myself in a corsair and fight against a zero. I hit his fuel tank and then he cmes around fires a few bullets and it rips my corsair in two, how unrealistic is that!!!! I also find that i am about to get the crosshairs on the zero and needs a bit of fine adjustment, i put the tinyest bit in and it jumps up way past the zero, how can i win the war like this???? Any way of fixing these problems????

Hi,

If you are using a joystick to control the plane, it may be needing calibration (control panel, game controllers, properties, settings, calibrate) or it may need maintenance as the pots can be faulty.

What brand/model stick is it?

As for AI gunnery-accuracy: either you set it to Ace level, or he got lucky....
As for your gunnery... fix the control problem and maybe next time his fuel tank will explode before yours does....

Have Fun!

PS It takes a lot of practice and hard work to win the war!!!!

Beware the AI...they are sort of suicidal sometimes fighting to the last.

But this is not unlike some of the instances that occured during World War II. In another theater...during the Battle of Britain, there was a story (I'll have to try and find it) as told by a gunner on a German bomber where he hit a Spitfire with a solid burst, the Spitfire lit up with smoke and fire everywhere and yet the pilot swung his plane back into the fight and unloaded his machine guns despite the flames. So how a Zero, who you lit on fire, got into a firing position is your fault.

The second problem sounds like a joystick issue. It may not be calibrated properly or it may be a cheap stick and it really doesn't work very well. You may be able to tone down the control on it too...which stick is it? Mine is very smooth and does not give me this problem.

Click the "Joysticks..." link under my signature picture and read the "Setting up sensitivity" section of the article it takes you to.

For $40 you can buy an entire reconditioned X-45 HOTAS (Hands On Stick And Throttle) from Saiteks website. I've bought one 2 months ago and its doing fine, just like new. If you are not using a throttle now, the X-45 is THE way to go. You'll find lots of good X-45 profiles available in this community.

If you are real tight for money, you can get a Microsoft Precision Pro Joystick brand new from EBay for about $20. I have this stick and it improved my gunnery 200% over my Logitech FFB POS.

Hi Neil

you should learn to fly corsair that way, that A6M never has a chance to shoot in your direction. It is called B&Z. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
