O.K. heres the deal. I currently have a 256mb ati radeon x1300 pro, and I think it is time for an upgrade. What would you suggest?

I highly recommend the ATI 4870 video card. Relatively inexpensive, typically generates low heat and is fine with the stock cooling fan, relatively low power usage (for modern powerful video cards) and generally out performs all but Nvidias highest cards (it typically beats the 8800 and 9600 cards by nvidia),

Here are some benchmarks:

Tell us how much you want to spend, mate and we will tell you the best card for that price range.

The 8800GT would be a very good choice, great bang for buck.

The ATI 4870 is the best you can get right now, but more expensive.

Then go for Radeon 4870. Terrific video card!
