I never will understand the torents of agnst about the Spit from LW jocks. Recently, I started to try to master the 190 and 109. I wanted to see for myself what all rending of garments was about. OMG! These are amazing, powerful, and potent aircraft. If you resit getting into to turn fight on the deck, where you will die, you can eat the Spits for lunch. I rarley fly the Spit, or allied for that matter, anymore.

I think the "conversion syndrome" is more likely that due to ones knowledge of the allied(or axis) planes that when one finally gives the other side a try they do really well because they know what the enemy is capable of, i.e. "Know your enemy, know yourself, and you shall be victorious in all things".

Yup, another player has seen that teh 109 is one of the top 3 easiest "planes" to score many, many kills in.

Takes minimal skill, just get in and hold down teh trigger to display Leet Maxx Skillzors.

If I feel like a rouge and just want to kill I fly the 109,190. If not and team work is what I feel like I fly allied side.

Not saying team work can't be done with German planes. Its just how I personaly play them. Very seldom do I hookup with an axis pilot for a wing man. It's just to mercyless if we do http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I like the F4 and G2 best as I prefer to turn fight and find them deadly. Also I love the nose mounted gun as it's much easier aim with than wing guns once your up close and personal, you can realy lay down some agro on your enemy with that 20mm.

I just realized, going from the Hurri to the 109? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

You never walked before you began to run did ya. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif There's a very big difference between those two birds. In a 109 the Hurri never scares me unless he catches me by surprise. The guns are great but the lack of power is also great.

When ever I came across a Hurri I always use the same tactic. I climb above him and turn but not to tight. The Hurri pilot usually tries to follow and loses a lot of E. Once I get him lined up with the tip of my wing I drop the throttle, extend the flaps, roll over and attack. This gives me the option of staying with the Hurri and picking him apart or simply fire a few shots, full throttle, flaps up and go to a higher position. Best defense against a Hurri is to stay out of it's reach. The Hurri turns on a dime and it's guns are deadly to a 109.

Still, I can understand your excitement Hydra. You just went from a Pinto to a Corvette. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I wish I could but the game evolved past the capabilties of my pc. I haven't flown in about 8 months now. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

The reason I don't buy a new one now is because I will move from here, China, to Germany soon. Don't need the extra shipping charges.

I've had to present tracks before to prove I wasn't pulling someone's leg. My favorite was a 1000m hit with 1 shot from a Mk108. Luckily we were recording online DF training. I don't have that track anymore but I think WUAF-Badsight has it.

BTW, can you figure out how to hit something with 1 shot from an Mk108 at 1000m? It's actually logical and very possible, and also something Oleg deserves credit for. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Any guesses?

The 109 is a GREAT plane to fly. I'm still working on the manual pitch thing because I know once I master it I will be able to handle all of it's strengths much better.

It will never peplace my P-51... but for me it is THE plane to fly if I have to fly an axis fighter.

Ha ha ha Tully that's funny. No actually, I didn't change my convergences, they were still at 300m.

I was in the K4 and my enemy was a Dora9. He had been trying to get me for a while but I gave him no chance, I alsways keep my distance. When I decided to go after him he realized I was gaining on him. He decided to take advantage of his superior dive capabilities. I used the advantage of gravity. He dove straight down and I followed from about 1000m. I trusted Oleg and simply put my enemy right in my crosshairs a fired one round. There was a delay then boom, he was gone. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Everyone on TS was asking what happened. I replied 1 Mk108. They said it was impossible but luckily it was training and we were recording. It's simple; gravity doesn't make the arc in a firing line when you are shooting towards gravity. Oleg and the team even modelled that.

Its my habit to shoot planes with short bursts at 500-750m. I can't hit anything at less than 300m. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

If you pu$$ out of a deck fight in a 109, then you are not worthy to fly her. It's a tough aircraft to turn and burn in. But well worth the effort when you are victorious. BnZ is both boring and n00bish. Effective, but any n00b can be effective with a distinct altitude advantage over an opponent. True satisfaction comes from victory with a disadvantage.

You know, I see all these threads (not this one so much) that go...

This or that plane is overmodelled or is so easy to fly, it's noob plane.

And I think...

Horse Hockey!

If incidents and accidents, hints and alligations... and luck, let's not forget how important that can be along with the much taked about "pilot skill" leads to a situation where the 109 pilot is able to make me fight the battle on his terms, I'll die and he'll fly home.

I encourage everyone to try all the planes and you'd be surprised. One time, Dubbo made a coop where you flew biplanes against ME-262's. Surprisingly enough, I made it home alive and shot down two live piloted 262's and one AI 262! The 262's simply couldn't turn fast enough and I could light those flying gas bombs on fire as they passed me.

Is this realistic? Who knows! The point I'm trying to make is that this game is so expansive with so many possibilities already that anyone who says they are bored and can't wait for the patch simply has not given this game a fair shake. Try all the planes, not just the glamour planes!
