First discovered by Charles Darwin, evolution I think he called it?
Seriously, the guys built the J8(Gladiator) cockpit two-three years ago, raised the level of cockpits modelling many many times, and most new pits since then has just been pieces of art IMO.
It's always inspiring to see what other people can do differently with the same tools in hand.
It's always most difficult to thread the new paths first

You only see that quality in pay-for addons. Very impressive. Just wish that they did the P47 pit.

I'm using Ed 3D glasses and TrackIR. Have to say that the Tempest pit looks amazing! This is as close as I'll ever come to the real thing.

The craftsmanship is outstanding, but the view bowled me over. That has to be the best cockpit view in the game. It was like stepping into sunlight from a dark room.

If I am not mistaken, Hammered did the texturing for the cockpit. Outstanding work! Im not sure who did the modeling. I would look in the readme file, but I cant trust that. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

It's all gorgeous, Thanks Alex_Voicu and Hammerd.

If you take a hit in the wing it exposes the cannon breeches http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Capitaine Haddock's J8A used a very advanced (and time-consuming) method of making the cockpit. He made everything high-poly, high-detail, rendered it, and used the renders as textures on a low-poly version. That way we get a very high detail effect but with a low polycount and great computer performance. It's very time-consuming though, which is why no-one else has used that technique.

I love the Tempest's cockpit. I find it hard to shoot things with it, but that may just be unfamiliarity with the guns and gunsight.

^ think i-185 use similar technique, but yes like say it huge work intensive as essential you build two cockpit >_< but result very very impressive
