Does anyone else just like to taxi around the airfield? You can even get out on the roads and do some interesting sightseeing.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I do it all the time in my P-47. I can't stop in time on those short grass airfields in Normandy, so, while I'm out beyond the runway, sometimes I'll find a road and drive down it for a bit.

Is that odd?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

P39 will taxi well on the rough grass, and will even stay intact if you land on grass (carefully). Nosewheel saves the prop!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

P38 is the best, it feels like a powerfull sports car and it will not nose over if you brake like a maniac http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

It has got to be hands down the Do-335. That thing drives like a car!!! It has rugged tricycle gear and a good view out the sides without the engines (like on the Lightning)blocking what you are trying to see.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I know that IAR-80/81 is one of the worst for taxi, despite it's wide track landing gear. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Definitely those with tri-cycle gear like the P-39, P-63 and P-38 for example. The Me-262 is a bit of a pain due to its slow acceleration.

Back in Jane's WWII Fighters, when we wanted to do something different and mess around, we used to all get in P-38s and just drive around shooting each other. If you got shot and had to respawn, you had to land first, before re-engaging in the combat. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I also like to land bombers in cities and drive around annhilating convoys and trains with the gunners. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Actually, me and my friend, taxiied our TB3, on 75% power from our base to almost half way around an online map, driving towards our enemy making sure our wheels were touching the ground at all times and only making small "jumps" over rivers and such.

Its funny, when enemy tanks start shooting you...not much remains of the TB3 after a single hit http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Try it!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
