A couple of weeks ago I went to see the doctor due to my ribs hurting for the past month or so and finally tiring of hurting so much. He had me get some X-rays taken (they are using digital X-rays now for medical purposes too). Well, I got the results back today and I seemed to have fractured at least one rib. I have no idea how I did it or when I did it or what I was doing when I did it. At least I know why I hurt now. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Ouch....how bad are they fractured?

I know when I broke my foot by dropping a 70 pound bass amp on it, it swole and turned black and I fractured two meta-tarsals, but not completely through. Is it a simple fracture or complete?

They didn't say, but they must have been somewhat healed. It still hurts, but I do have prescription strength Naproxen. I'm afraid I would have run out of stronger stuff if given them. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Brittle bones, I have an uncle that has had a pencil in his shirt pocket and lean over the seat just right and break a rib.
You do need to be careful there OLD man. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
And this http://media.ubi.com/us/forum_images/gf-glomp.gif is to say I'm sorry you hurt.

Unlucky Wk I hope it heals up well and soon.

Its surprising how often people can walk around with broken bones totally oblivious to the fact. My mother in law was struggling on a 'sprained' ankle last year for over a month before she agreed to go to hospital. We had asked her to go when she first did it but stubbornly she refused. Eventually gave in only to find she had a really nasty fracture running from the base of her ankle up through the bone towards her leg.

I've known other friends and family have the same with wrist fractures, ribs etc.
