It's more a matter of priorities. It's not a gimme, gimme question. I'd rather they filled in some gaping holes in aircraft used in very large numbers. Yes, mostly bombers like the B-17 through B-29 planes. After all, the fighters were only there to protect those who got the job done!

How about the gapping holes is flyable aircraft for the Germans and Russians in what is supposed to be an Eastern Front sim?? Also several important types (Hs 126, for example) don't even make an appearance at all...

I'd like to see these birds, simply for the novelty of watter takeoffs/landings. But if not... eh.

Err, it's no longer an Estern Front sim.... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/10.gif This is Forgotton Battles, a stand alone product which incorporates elements of the Eastern Front. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif I agree, though, that having the Hs 126, Pe-2 and others are needed.

I believe Gibbage has had the flyable PBY in the works for awhile now. It would be super cool if it is actually fully amphibious, able to roll into the water, or land in the water and roll up onto land. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Good hunting,

What if there were no hypothetical questions?

I think that's extremely unlikely unless the completed cockpits are already in Oleg's hands, the (human flown) flight models completed and Oleg is just waiting for the next add-on release for a place to put them...

Gibbage, last I knew, was still working on the interiors for the Catalina.

Now with 50+ skins and counting!

It doesn't seem likely we'll see a flyable PBY before PF comes out. Several threads on the subject in that forum, and the consensus from posters was that it's critical for PTO missions.

Gibbage, I think, has been upset over modeling of .50 cal dispersion, especially in the P-38s he modelled. At the end of one long, winding thread, he said he was continuing work on the PBY cockpit/interior. Seems to be a lot of stuff under the surface here.

Whatever his concerns, he's the guy to finish this bird and our best bet IMO. Evidence the P-38s, Spitfires and others; he's one h**l of a modeler.

A big yes for flyable flying boats.

And hoping for more flyable bombers , recon , transports etc etc.
I`m glad that the fighter players have so many models to fly wiht buht i mis the models for players that love to fly slow (ugly hehehe) big wing things like a Pe8 or ju52.

Airwar is not only fighters , its just a part off it.
And some off us like to fly/play tham all including seaplane`s.
Give me the Do24 flyable please!!!!!!!
Buht i most say to my self , keep on dreaming.
Oleg is to hard for that sort off flyable stuff.
Buht still i love his work.

its not like flying boats is super enthralling, it's just that the more player flyable planes the better

Voted yes. Every new flyable A/C would be welcome. No matter what type (fighter, recconaisance etc...).

Cajun76 mention that this is no longer a eastern front sim. It is good to have add-ons/patches which includes western A/C's and few non-east maps. But I agree with Baltar, that originally this game is supposed to be almost entirely eastern front WW2 sim.

I would really like having flying boats and float planes flyable together with special missions for them like reconnaissane, rescuing, mine-laying, submarine-hunting and ship-attack.

All these kinds of mission are historical correct for the Baltic and East seas on the Leningrad map. I would think that's enough justification for realisation within FB.

Any more voters?

At teh moment there a very few antiship missions and I for one find torpedo runs a highly satisfying exercise http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif
