If you had to man just one gun position which would you choose? I gravitate towards mid starboard,I don't feel comfortable on the left for some reason. (Maybe I would be even happier in the rolly pencil position up front....
Su Doku perhaps...)

Usually the nose gun. But on the SPB variant I alternate between the nose and tail.

top or tail in any AC.

SPB version has only one (1) top gunner, the other top gunner moved to the tail. Top, Tail, Nose, all are Good. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif But, if I had to pick, I guess I would pick Nose because you can see the same as Top but also see below and where the plane is going. Tail see's where the plane is coming from. Just my thought process, more process than thought probably.

id have to choose nose gun, too

most attacks come from the rear...nose gunner least likely to die from bullets

least likely to die from the inevitable ramming of said TB3, as well

in the unlikely event of a fighter actaully makiing a pass without ramming, nose gunner can still get a nice shot at fighter as it peels off or overshoots

best view, no exhaust fumes or fire/smoke from engines/fuel tanks gettin in yer face

as long as you dont mind bugs in your teeth, nose is the way to go

On the servers I prefer the tail gunner. I have a huge viewing shooting range and a lot of fighters like to sit off my 4 or 8 thinking they cant be hit, but yes they can. Easy shooting targets.

But I do jump to the other positions which are pretty good spots.

definately nose gun - it covers more area than any other position, and you are far less likely to get hit in the nose when attacked by fighters.

Belly or rear.

I'd be in the bomber pos cuz I wanna live! (not like that that flimsy metal will protect me anyways...)

On the wing. They don't expect a maniac strapped to the wing with a machine gun... ^_^

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif Believe it or not, my son voted for also the navigator's position in the beginning, for the very same reason!

Then I switched off 'vulnerability' for him, and now he is doing all right in any position against any number of enemy AI fighters http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Anyhow, I also man the nose gun normally, great view and less likely to be killed.

Nose definately. Life expectancy has to be a little longer (especially more than the target drone in the tail) AND if the pilots start doing anything stupid you can point the gun rearwards and motivate them to get their act together http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I usually use all positions. In a TB3 I will exhaust the guns quickly because online there is little time before one is shot down.

Therefore I prefer to fire 3 sec bursts as long as I can. The guns reach 900m so it's a good idea to start early.
I spray and slowly hose up and down in a pattern infront of the enemy, wich often leads to hits.

To be able to fire the other guns I go in a slow turn wich also allows the ai gunners to aim at the enemy (they usually fire at empty space though, wasting ammo http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif).
This way its possible to use all guns.

Personally I think it's a bad idea to save ammo in a TB3.
Really like to fly this big ship.

well, what I think. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Actually I said that as a Joke, I'd really rather play as a nose gunner or even better, behind the controls of an interceptor about to shoot down the TB3.

P.S. Invulnerability sucks, makes the game lame. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
