I was wondering...if this new DRM turns out to be successful at keeping pirates at bay (pun intended) and secure enough sales, could Ubisoft release Assassin's Creed 3 for the PC at the same time as for the consoles? This time there would be no piracy to hinder the initial sales of the game. At least I'm guessing that's the main reason the game is released on consoles so much sooner than on the PC, piracy on consoles is pretty much non-existent compared to PC. But the new DRM seems to be working out pretty well. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Not counting off potential customers.

Any thoughts?

Indeed, the DLC works very great.
If they're going to use uPlay to let us download DLC, or just patch it in, we might get it on Launch Day, otherwise when consoles got all DLC, or just never again.

He said "DRM", not "DLC". http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

actually they said the PC version was held back as it wasn't stable enough for release, so assuming this time they account for the extra time it takes to get a game working on PC, they should be able to release all 3 versions at the same time.

my only disappointment is they have been saying they are going into a 1 year game cycle for IP's like AC meaning the quality of the games is going to fall massively, even EA dropped 1 year production cycles, so that now altho they put a version of a game out each year they have 2 teams and each team gets 2 years to make their game.

so if they go ahead with the 1 year cycle chances are AC3 will be nowhere near the quality of the last two causing even more problems.

Well, I guess all we can do is hold our thumbs.

*"Cross our fingers" is a more suitable phrase. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
