Looks as awesome as the trailers (http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/events/x06/99-300-livestream-high-primary.htm) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

BTW, after the entire video buffers, you can skip ahead to the 31:40 mark, if you don't want to see the entire '360' presentation. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Also, if you want a bigger version, right click in the middle of the video display, and click "zoom" then "fullscreen" from the menu. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

In case anyone couldn't read it, the "game over" screen had three smaller screens, the far left of which said "Hard drive," the middle of which said "Memories." I can't really read the one on the right. Looks like it says "Options," though. Kinda odd, though, since the rest of the screens say something fitting in the game (i.e. if Memories is for loading a previous save, it says Memories instead of "load game," because Memories fits with the theme of someone reliving past experiences). But maybe those "Options" aren't the same as game settings.

If I had to take a guess at what each one meant, I'd say...Well, I originally thought Memories = Load Game, but maybe Hard Drive means Load Game and Memories is for different levels? Meaning you can load up different missions from the different memories, and the hard drive is for save files? And then, while it could be something different, I think Options will be just that: options (like Subtitles, game difficulty, etc.).

However, one thing it all but confirms is that you actually do play someone from the future either reliving his ancestor's memories or some type of assassin training exercise from one of the first Assassin's memories.

I'm honestly very suprised they left that in there and didn't come up with a quick menu that wouldn't give some stuff away, esspecially since it's not playable on the show floor (at least, I don't think so), and only had to be for the conference.

For some reason, Altair reminds me of the Prince... especially when he's climbing that building.

Words cannot explain how sick the village is...I mean, the fluidity of Altair and the villagers are just mindblowing...There are way too many things I absolutely loved about the demo, so I'd rather talk about the things I didn't like...

1. Horse riding to the village looked average compared to all the other animations in the game, especially the fluidity of the jumping..

2. The assassination was way too short, it was just boom, walk up to him, kill him, evade...I was hoping there were more aspects to the kill as well as the evasion process...I realize that preperation beforehand makes the kill longer in a way, but I was hoping that it wasn't that easy to walk right up to the guy and stab him...

3. The rear view camera thing when Altair was getting chased..I feel it would be more suspenseful if you had to turn the camera while running, because like Jade said, you can be knocked over while running..So I don't like the fact that you can quickly see behind you and snap right back to running straight..It should be a chance you take to look behind you, instead of allowing the player to see quickly and not have to worry about being knocked down during the pursuit..

#2 is the only real thing I'm upset about in the demo, the others are really minor things I disliked..

The only thing I'm afraid of for UbiSoft is that people actually have to walk in the game..I've talked to alot of people and they dislike Splinter Cell for the slowness, but now, running in AC is not the best idea all the time and casual gamers might be turned off by the fact you NEED to walk sometimes...

Regardless of anything I wrote here today, AC is the greatest game I've ever seen, hands down..And that was only a fcking demo..Hats off to all the devs who are making this game, you people are unreal...

I agree with you on point number two. Although there was the "kill-cam" thing (which I personally disliked, but I'll not go into that now), it was basically just "walk up, hit X (I assume on the 360 controller), watch the kill-cam thing, and then run away. I was expecting them to try and make it a lot more dramatic, similar to the second trailer. Then again, in the demo Altair WAS hiding with the monks and was basically able to walk right next to his target without arousing suspicion, so I guess it's reasonable to say he could just walk up and stab him, but it just felt...It felt like you were just killing any NPC, and you happened to get a special kill-cam for doing so.

But, hey, I haven't even played the game yet, and once the game is finished and I'm able to play it myself it may feel completely different. I know that I'll probably do my best to make them be really cool and dramatic, since I tend to like to "role-play" even in games other than RPGs.

This might have been said already, but i'm gonna mention it again anyway. At the end of the X06 demo footage, when Altair dies and the "main menu" pops up, you can actually see someone standing over you.. it seems as if the player is wearing some kind of VR-Glasses or something similar, and you can actually see right through them when not in the sim...

Also, underneath Memories it says "Access your genetic memory." Again, I think this will probably be for loading missions or something similar.

They did it using Low profile kill... You can also do it in High profile which is a completly different experience. Plus... If you haven't made the "side quest" that allows you to blend with the monks, you'll probably be spotted way earlier... I guess http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Is it just me or did anyone else think the X06 footage was kind of... lackluster?

I know its a work in progress but it seems like the gameplay is kind of boring and automatic, as if a lot of the actual gameplay is just automatic jumping and button timing...

etothevizzle

i really enjoyed the demo as well, my only complain was at the beginning when altair is riding to town on the horse, he ran straight into a guy and the guy freaked out amd just stood there but was automatically moved while he just stood there...also right before altair joined the monks, he tried to sidestep past a woman but ran right into her...but none of that worries me because jade even satated at the beginning that there is going to be some popping and glitching cuz its a very early demo...but other than those glitches that will be smoothed out later on, im really excited!

I just have to say: 1, it looks better than the horse riding in Oblivion (which wasn't bad, I might add), and 2, don't expect the jumping animation to be overly "fluid". Because that particular kind of jump is almost never fluid in real life.

I enjoyed the demo very much. I think it was about time we saw gameplay. But there are two things I noticed that disappointed me a little.

First thing...

The assassination was way to plain, something's missing. I was expecting more drama when the act is being displayed.

Secondly

Is when they used the intuition and spotted the target. It was way to plain; all you see is a glowing light around him. They can make it more interesting if the camera zooms on the target when you spot him, just like in the e3 trailer.

But besides these two flaws... in my opinion, the demo was mesmerizing. I can€t wait for this game. My patience took a fall after seeing the demo.

I said it before and I€ll said it again... except this time, with more insurance.
We are witnessing history in the making when it comes to video games.

one thing that should ease your disappointment, is that that is merely ONE of countless ways that assassination could've taken place. in the actual trailer for the game, it shows Altair running right up on the guy before it ends, so there are many ways the assassinations can be approached. essentially, you can create the drama, or choose not to...

It' a decision left to the player's discretion on how he wants to proceed, whether on High profile or Low profile. No need to mention that some mission might be way more difficult in High profile http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Plus, as Jade mentionned in her presentation, she said that they already made the side quest of helping the monk which allows you to blend in and she already knew where her target was. You understand that she was restricted in time and still gave a five minutes gameplays... Starting the game, climbing only one building, blending with the monks and killing her target. Guys, dont forget that you can do missions for different people to gain their respect or their help.

The target in the demo could have been a guy that bob in hut #9 behind the fish stand didnt like because he hit his wife so he told you if you killed him he would let you sleep with his sheep.

you never know, im sure its not going to be that easy on the main 9 targets.
