There are 10 % of planes in IL2 serie that are capable of dealing with the new track ir 6DOF system. Due to better graphics etc..
To do so it wouldn't requier such a long time.

Would you buy it?
Even as a small stand alone i would get it for shure.

No since i dont own a trakir 3.

most of the comunity dont´t own a trakir, and since some people that dont own it thinks the trakir gets a upperhand in dogfights and call the users cheater.Wonder what would happen if the 6dfo version got out,the trak pilot can look to the left/right in a more efficient way than the other pilots, hmm wonder what those with out it would think about it.

drop it unless you want to re-model the cockpits of all the planes yourself

If it did come out, how many servers do you think would be running that version?

When 99% of us don't even have TIR...

It depends on whether or not I have the slightest clue what you're talking about. So, I will answer 'Perhaps'.

What is he talking about? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Why squeezing this new feature in an old graphic engine with a big amount of work and problems for O.M. and team? Better leave this for the new BoB project

No, and anyways i don´t even own track ir ,for some reason nobody sells them here Finland, and i don´t own credit card, so i can´t buy the thing from net either.

To do what? Remodel the 10% of cockpits in the game? How would you know how much time it will take?

TheGozr

Since those 10 % of those plane are aible to use the new dof6 track ir.

I'm so sick of hearing about this thing I know nothing about that if people keep talking about it I may just have to never find out exactly what it is.

Yes.

Even more if they give the whole work (90%) to another company meanwhile they work in BoB, even if it has the $50 tag. Just my opinion.

Hmmm... let me think here....

$40 for Pacific Fighters....
$50 for Vector Expansion....
$50 for new cockpits so Vector will look pretty in Pacific Fighters....

Time it takes for the new cockpits will only be 6 months or so shy of BoB.

So, no. I wouldnt buy it.

I would rather have crappy cockpits and 6DOF now. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Some people in here don't seem to grasp what it would take. Just throwing in a few surfaces to cover up holes isnt it, and that in itself wouldn't be easy. Every cockpit in the game was designed to be viewed from 2 fixed points and thats it. What you guys are asking would be like asking George Lucas to come out with a version of star wars where you could pan and move your view around as you want throughout the movie. You can't because the possibility was never envisioned when it was first made, just like in IL2. The developers have been great at giving us new stuff, but you guys asking for a complete rewrite of the game for the few of you are getting crazy. If there is one control feature that SHOULD be added it would be real separate engine control.

As I understand it the cockpits in IL-2 exist in 3D space. If you panned your head to the side, the front of the the guages would appear as you would expect with gaps existing around them where they lack depth. In order to create a seamless cockpit, additional geometry would be required. I'm sure a community based mod team would form pretty quickly if the tools (an in game model importer/exporter compatible with popular 3D development applications for example) were provided to realize a fully 3D cockpit.

I would make the servers 10 if i need too.

3 online maps , 4 planes each sides =you got the test demo.
i bet many will be on it 24/7. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

But hey, the man says no..

I found these pics on SimHQ forums and it really sets the end of this discussion, dont you agree?

IL-2 series never were planned with this kind of third party developments in mind, not even planned for any inclusion of it by its own developers.

Thats fine by me, I´ll survive and get on enjoying my PF http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

Agree on this but I would like to see the "worst" cases as well.
