sorry to be slow in my head today, what is the relation or difference between UBI and 1C?

"15. Off-topic posts are prohibited. This rule does not extend to the 1C Games section and other appropriate threads (topics). Note that violation of rules number 5,6,8,9,14 is prohibited even in special "Off-topic" threads.

Users who post off-topic content in inappropriate topics or will be banned from the section in the following pattern:
1st violation - warning
2nd violation - 1 day ban
3d violation - 3 day ban"

What a GREAT PLAN Guys!.....Go to the forum that's closer to the source then you ever had the ability to get before, and insure that in short order you make it so 1C says..."ahh, I see what you mean, ah well, take it down, waste of space".

I agree with LeBillFish -
I just signed up there, and I see some guys are taking the same old 'in-house' jokes and attitudes straight onto the new forum. And there was me, hoping we might raise the bar a bit with a fresh start, as you say - probably as close to Oleg and Co as we're ever gonna get.
C'mon guys, lets approach this new forum with a more favorable attitude, and not mess it up for everyone? Show them that we're actually a decent bunch, worthy of putting the extra hours of work in for, maybe even more patches beyond 4.09, who knows...?

If Oleg can't stand the gaff, he ought to try a new line of work. The ribbing he takes on this forum is nothing compared to the slaughter a writer, film director, painter, poet, or sculptor has to endure from the public. Some of you act like we should revert to being timid children in elementary school afraid to upset our teacher---good grief, pathetic. For the current news blackout, all concerned deserve a tarring. They have an obligation to their public, not vice versa.

Disagree on most points on many levels. Since when has a movie star or director been in contact with his fans like Oleg was here? You are taking "criticism", and making it apply equally across all forms of communication. Did Tom Cruise ever post daily about his past, present, and future projects on the website that was supposed to be for conversing with him? Peter Jackson? Angelina Jolie? Mark Hamill? John Belushi? Hans Zimmer? Segio Leone? How about Arnold Shwartzenegger? James Woods? Pavaroti? You are comparing apples to telephone poles, not even oranges

Oleg's choice to stop conversing with petulant negativity-mongers was the adult and correct choice, whether you like it or not

Oleg's company is one that provides a frivolity, an entertainment software in a small niche. It is needless to the world, and it's our little madness to like his product

that does not mean he's obligated to give me regular or ir-regular updates about anything. We are not subscribing to a service that constantly is provided, this is not pay-to-play, and if you feel that it IS a constant service, then just stop buying the games

The "news blackout" is, from what I hear, from Ubi, which is effectively gagging Oleg. that has nothing to do with his cessation of posting here, he did that previous to this. of course, that is what I hear, nit proven fact. But those members here long enough should recognize how infrequently I mention things like that without pretty good info. And before you ask for my 'sources', they are the same as yours, I just read things closely and pay attention to the context, as well as what's said and what's not said- I perhaps understand what is said a little clearer than most, but this is not a failing on my part

In any case I feel your view of this situation couldn't be more wrong

I'll try and get my feelings on the matter over with a little example of how it could work:

The thing to do is to put yourself into the shoes of the guys at 1C, who are sitting and working on BOB:SOW as we speak. So, there I am at work, having the occasional break to check what the users are saying on the forum. If all I see is a bunch of guys acting like twits with repeated, incessant banal comments, chances are, I'm not going to be very impressed. This could easily reflect in my work, and I might lose that edge to really make my work SHINE. If, on the other hand, they seem like a bunch of guys who are going to appreciate my hard work, I might well consider going 'the extra mile' for them. Stands to reason, doesn't it?
The guys at 1C are human, too. So, just ask yourself, how concerned would you be about your customers if they all came across as a bunch of ungrateful prats?
So, lets try and keep this new forum on a level where 1C will like us.
I'm not saying we can't have fun or joke around, but the main point of this forum is to help 1C know what we want/would like to see in their products, without getting silly about it.
I guess I'm just a bit serious about my fun!

Tell me how you feel on a nice sunny day. Then tell me how you fell on an gray overcast day.

Yes the yellow is a bit much but if I posted there it sure would put me in a better mood that the dark foreboding colors used by Ubi put me in. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

You don't stare at the sun all day on a sunny day, though.

RBJ was a very popular character of this forum some years ago. He was a constant source of amusement thanks to his insane arrogance and selfconfidence. He claimed to be a sort of IL2 gaming monster capable of winning in any situation, both by mastering the flight characteristics of every plane, and by exploiting the game code weaknesses.

As far as the latter he was a preacher of the "trim on a slider" which at that time allowed to increase instantaneously the turn rate.

He claimed as well that as soon as he sighted a boogie, max speed, roll, climb, turn rates etc were scrolling in his eyes like in the movie "Terminator", allowing him to choose the best tactics.

His strangest assertion, and probably the one that lead to his final clash and abandon of the forum, was that IL2 had to be played like a videogame and not as a flight simulation, by exploiting every flaw and bugs in the game code (what we call cheating).

I kinda miss him ...

(WOW, shouldn't this be a nice Wikipedia entry???)

I recall Raybanjockey very well. He was a unique character...very much so. Mentally wired somewhat differently than the rest of us.

I actually assumed that there was a real possibility that he might have self-terminated in the real world, explaining his Sudden overnight disappearance from these forums.
